Two people were reportedly shot while dining outdoors at fabled Williamsburg steakhouse Peter Luger, the New York Post and ABC7 report. According to sources, which include the server at the shooter’s table, the incident occurred after two diners started fighting around 9:45 p.m. The men were sitting indoors at a table of 11, and when they took the fight outside, the gunman, an unnamed 24 year-old, started firing, hitting two men who were dining outdoors.
One victim, a 30-year-old man, was shot in the shoulder, and the other, a 57-year-old man, was shot in the stomach. Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital, and the Post reports they’re expected to survive. The suspect reportedly fled but was caught only about a block away and taken back to Peter Luger where other diners identified him, according to ABC7. Charges are still pending.
