Amazon has officially ordered the untitled The Boys spin-off series, but Craig Rosenberg is no longer set to executive produce and act as showrunner.
Rosenberg left the project over âcreative differencesâ with Amazon and Sony Pictures TV. In his place are Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, who previously worked together on Agent Carter. The first casting details were also revealed as Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Shane Paul McGhie, Aimee Carrero, Reina Hardesty, and Maddie Phillips will play young superheroes on the show.
âMuch like Mork & Mindy spun-off from Happy Days â which is an insane and true fact â our spin-off will exist in the Vought Cinematic Universe, yet have a tone and style all its own. Itâs our take on a college show, with an ensemble of fascinating, complicated, and sometimes deadly Young Supes,â said The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke via THR. âMichele and Tara are stone-cold geniuses, weâre thrilled to have them steer this ship, and grateful to Sony and Amazon for the opportunity. We love this show and canât wait for you to see it. Also, Baywatch Nights spun-off from Baywatch, and it had vampires. Vampires!â

Fazekas and Butters will executive produce alongside Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver of Point Grey Pictures and Neal H. Moritz and Payun Shetty of Original Film, while Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television will produce.
The Boys spin-off will be set in Americaâs only college for young adult superheroes, ineffectually referred to as supes, run by Vought International and is being described as âan irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test,â blending the pitfalls of a college series with the gritty competitive nature of The Hunger Games and heart, satire, and raunch of the main series.
