We first heard of the project when Golden Globe winner Hugh Grant recently confirmed with Vulture that he has signed on to star in Booker’s new mockumentary which would center around the events of 2020. Further details about the Netflix project’s plot and characters are still being kept under wraps but Grant did tease that his character will be a historian with a nice wig.

“Charlie Brooker has written a mockumentary about 2020,” Grant said. “It’s for Netflix, and I am a historian who’s being interviewed about the year. I’m pretty repellent, actually! And you’ll like my wig.”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, many people have actually described the world’s current situation as another episode of Black Mirror. That’s why it’s interesting to see which of this year’s crazy events Booker decided to adapt to screen.
