We caught wind of these developments through a report made by Deadline. Apparently, Predator 5, or whatever it will be titled, is moving forward with Trachtenberg in the directorâs chair, and writer Patrick Aison crafting the script. Aison has written and produced on espionage series like Jack Ryan and Treadstone, so this creative team is already starting to sound interesting in these early stages.
Sheâs also shared a video for the new song âBody.â It features appearances from Taraji P Henson, Jordyn Woods, Blac Chyna, Daren Kyle, Asian Doll, Bernice Burgos, and Maliibu Miitch. Watch it below.
The credits reveal production from Juicy J, Mustard, Scott Storch, Tay Keith, Buddha Bless, Avedon, J.R. Rotem, Lil Ju, Cool & Dre, and others. Mike Dean is listed as one of the albumâs engineers.
2020 has been a big year for Megan Thee Stallion. She kicked things off in January with the Normani collaboration âDiamondsâ for the Harley Quinn movie Birds of Prey. She went on to make songs with Phony Ppl (âFkn Aroundâ), Tyga (âFreakâ), DaBaby (âNASTYâ), Young Dolph (âRNBâ), DJ Chose (âTHICK (Remix)â), and, of course, Cardi B, with whom she made âWAP,â which had the biggest streaming debut week of all time.
Megan Thee Stallion has also dealt with controversy in 2020, including a legal dispute with her label 1501 Certified Entertainment. In her powerful SNL performance during which she also called for justice for Breonna Taylor, she stated, âWe need to protect our Black women. And love our Black women.â

âWhen we first started the Black Lighting journey, I knew that Jefferson Pierce and his family of powerful Black Women would be a unique addition to the superhero genre,â showrunner Sam Akil said in a statement. âThe love that Blerds and all comic book fans around the globe have shown this series over the past three seasons proved what we imagined, Black People Want To See Themselves in all their complexities.â
Black Lightning marks the latest CW DC Comics series to come to a close in recent times following the series finale of Arrow earlier this year after eight seasons and the announcement that Supergirl would end in 2021 with its upcoming sixth season. The network is currently developing a spinoff series centered on the villain Painkiller, portrayed by Jordan Calloway, with a backdoor pilot airing as the seventh episode of the forthcoming fourth season.
High school principal Jefferson Pierce, who retired from his superhero persona Black Lightning for almost nine years after seeing the effects it had on his family, is forced to become a vigilante again when the rise of the local gang called The 100 led by Tobias Whale leads to increased crime and corruption in his community of Freeland.
The series stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce, China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce, James Remar as Peter Gambi, Damon Gupton as Inspector Henderson, Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce, Marvin Jones III as Tobias Whale, and Jordan Calloway as Khalil Payne.
