While some members of Oasis would love to reunite, one in particular thinks its a bad idea. Unsurprisingly, that person is Noel Gallagher.
When asked about a reunion during a visit toĀ AustraliaāsĀ The Project, Noel said he ādoesnāt feel like it.ā
āThe legacy of the band is set in stone,ā he explained before comparing the band to rock royalty. āIf people have seen us, theyāll understand what all the fuss is about. If you didnāt see us, then thatās tough cos Iāve never seen the BeatlesĀ or theĀ Sex Pistols.ā
āPeople ask me that question on a daily basis and I can only say to you that, I just donāt feel like it,ā he continued. āWhen youāre in a band, itās an absolute compromise so no I donāt think I could come up with an idea and then run it by four people and then six weeks later, somebody knocks it back because their catās got a cough so I like to march to the beat of my own drum. Oasis is done Iām afraid.ā
Though the chance of ever seeing Oasis live again is slim to none, fans will be able to get their fix with an upcoming documentary about the bandās famous 1996 Knebworth concert, which is being producer byĀ both Gallagher brothers.

Wednesday, May 5 The big thing is I just moved back home. I got back a few weeks ago, so Iām just settling back into a New York City routine. I was unexpectedly in Los Angeles for 14 months. I went on what was supposed to be a six-day trip and when I landed at LAX ā my phone had been off āĀ all of a sudden Tom Hanks has gotten COVID. The NBA had canceled their season. Broadway shuts down, and then the WHO declares a global pandemic, and Iām on the tarmac. So, I ended up building this life in Los Angeles. I had all these established routines where I was cooking all the time and everything was really fixed for so long just because there was limited motion.Ā I get home, and all my routines have totally exploded. There are all these things that youāve been longing for. A good bagel, a good slice of pizza, whatever random takeout you usually get. I feel like Iām at the weird part of the end of the pandemic, where the memory of my old routines are intersecting with the new ones I established in L.A. And now Iām reconnecting with colleagues and friends and all the food I missed.
Iām horrible at breakfast usually,Ā but I was so much better when I was away because I was getting up super-duper early and working on New York City time. Now Iām back on my old crap, so the best I can do in the morning is a cup of coffee. I was feeling a little bit stressed out and a little bit adrift, like I feel most days,Ā so I walked my behind over to Dunkinā, which I love. Iām a Dunkinā person. I want to be a Devoción person ā I like my pour-over whatever. But you know what? Iām sorry. Iām just not that person. My mom drank Folgerās, and I remember her lipstick-stained mug.
Because I hadnāt been to Dunkinā in a while, I was like, Well, letās throw in a sausage, egg, and, cheese on a bagel. And then ā because why not? ā I also decided we should have some hash browns.
Lunch: Iām doing a new job in a different time zone. I just started in the middle of the pandemic from Los Angeles in January and so, again, thatās a new routine on top of a new routine. Being in New York, I feel like lunch is the big struggle because Iām not grocery shopping and cooking and having leftovers in the same way that I did six months ago. I end up eating baby carrots, pita chips, and whatever else is aroundĀ in my fridge.
That night I finally redeemed myself and met up with some friends, an editor from another imprint as well as an editor from a different magazine. We decided to go to Robertaās ācause I hadnāt seen them in over a year, and I certainly hadnāt thought about Robertaās in ages. It was the first fun night of being back.
We had plenty of glasses of wine and we got lots of different pizzas ā one for each person because theyāre actually relatively small but delicious, and I think everyone was still in that moment of, Oh yeah, we should get something vegetarian and get something healthy. There was a meat pizza, a salad pizza, and another sort of vegetarian pizza, and it became very quickly apparent that everybody wanted the meat pizza and didnāt want anything to do with the other ones. But Robertaās is delicious, and it still felt like Robertaās!
I havenāt seen these places, and I havenāt seen them change ā I was only home a little bit during the pandemic. It goesĀ beyond the ritual of eating. Itās been this exercise in understanding how NYC has changed, how New York does things differently than another city because I just missed it all. Iāve been primarily on the East Coast ā in New York or New Jersey ā for all of my life. I was not leaving for more space. I did not run off to my country house. I just got stuck somewhere and had some reasons to stay there. But, you know, Robertaās ā one of my dear friends got married there, and Iāve been in that backyard a million times and it was so comforting to see that it was still there and tasted the same.
Thursday, May 6 I had anotherĀ breakfast fail. I think the day got a little bit crazy, and I also failed to make lunch, which is where the FiletāO-Fish comes in. When I wasĀ feeling stressed out in L.A., I would sometimesĀ just go to the drive-thru at McDonaldās whenĀ I felt like I needed a terrible, but delicious pick-me-up. Itās a little less anonymous here in New York because there arenāt drive-thruās in the same way, but IĀ shame-DoorDashed a File-O-Fish, a Big Mac, and fries. Iām not proud. Although there was a beautiful article in the New York Times recently about the Filet-O-Fish, so that made me feel like I was not alone.
ItāsĀ a perfect sandwich. Thereās just the right amountĀ of sauce, thereās the crispiness of the little filet. God knows what it is. Itās probably some horrible fish from the bottom of the ocean that looks like itās from outer space. I probably tricked myself into thinking that itās the most virtuous thing on the menu, like, Oh, itās fish! Itās also fried and on a sugar-filled bun with a giant dollop of mayonnaise-y sauce and a big slice of American cheese. I have to imagine that these peopleĀ spent billions of dollars science-ing us into thinking that everything they make is delicious. I am but one human palette that has been experimented on for decades ā and it worked.Ā
It was raining, and this was just one of those May days where you want it to be summer but itās not.I ordered dinnerĀ from Kings Co Imperial, one of my favorite spots. Iād been missing their string beans in particular ā theyāre porky and twice-fried. When I was in L.A., I loved the mapo tofu at this place Pine & Crane. Since Iām back to my old she-doesnāt-cook-as much-as-she-should-self now that Iām back in good old Brooklyn, I decided not to make the Times recipe that everybody loves so much andĀ instead to try Kings Co Imperialās Ma-Po Tofu. I hadĀ a rainy night watching Ted LassoĀ on myĀ computer and eating takeout from the box. It reminded me of my old life, and that was really lovely.
Friday, May 7 I woke up and had yet another depressing coffee breakfast. I know youāre supposed to do a triple backflip through your day and become an instant miracle if you eat breakfast, but I just cannot be asked.
Actually, Iām lying to you. I had a double-shame breakfast. I had my shame coffee and then I was feeling a little peckish so I walked to theĀ bodega and had a bacon, egg, and cheese.Ā This is on my short list of things that Iām sure are available in other cities but absolutely not a damn thing on all of planet Earth tastes like a New York bodega bacon, egg, and cheese. Salt, pepper, ketchup. Toast the bun. I then felt really, really guilty for not eating any vegetables except for theĀ salad pizza. So I made a friendās recipe for vegetable soup for lunch, which was actually a real triumph. I put some white beans, some broccoli, some potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic in a big āol pot. I cheated and used a little bit of chicken stock so it was not a purely vegetarian experience, and I think I threw in some zucchini at the end. Afterward, I felt like a decent human being who could show my face in public.
Then I went over to my bossās deck to be with some of my colleagues, and she ordered food in. We had a really yummy frittata and some sort of grain salad and a great dessert that I canāt remember but I was really happy to have a proper meal. It was so nice to actually see the people that you work with in real life!
After ā this was a very social day ā I went into theĀ city to meet a friend who owns some bookstores atĀ Lafayette.Ā I ended up having a shrimp cocktail andĀ aĀ glass of Sauvignon Blanc, but it was hilarious because they brought the bottle out and poured it, as one does, and it was the supermarket wine Iāve been drinking literally all year long, Gaspard Touraine. Itās like $14.99 a bottle. And a glass of it at Lafayette cost the same.Ā But you know what? I was grateful to them for pouring me a glass of supermarket wine. This might have been the first time I havenāt resented paying a full bottle price for a glass. I also had a really, really, really, really, really good cherry clafoutis. Iām not usually a dessert person but for whatever reason, it just knocked it out of the park, and I remembered the joy of dessert.
Saturday, May 8 Thereās a little Italian coffee shop close to where I liveĀ called Lella Alimentari. During the pandemic, they built these enclosedĀ areas where you can sit outside. Itās not the worldās most sophisticated set-up, but itās in such a good location, and it really is easy-breezy. My friend Erin came over in the morning, early, and we just had a nice sit-down coffee and talked about whatever.
It was raining, and the best I could do afterward was a bodega sandwich and a bowl of vegetable soup for lunch. I had my traditional chicken cutlet. No tomatoes. I hate raw tomatoes with my entire soul. I would rather lick the subway floor than eat a raw tomato. Itās the texture. Itās the taste. Itās the slime. And people will tell you āOh! You donāt like tomatoes but you havenāt had a garden-fresh summer blah, blah, blah.ā Yes, in fact, I have. And no, in fact, I do not like them. Theyāre almost worse when theyāre extra flavorful.
Iām moving soon, so Iām in this weird limbo that messes up your grocery game because you think,Ā I donāt know, should I stock the house normally? Probably not. ButĀ of course you should. Itās psychotic to think you can only go grocery shopping three months out. Iām a crazy person going through too much change, but I just canāt convince myself that I should reboot the kitchen in a normal way because Iām going to a new apartment on June 1. This is irrational pandemic thinking, but it is what it is.
During myĀ last few weeks in Los Angeles and my first few weeks here, thereās no routine left for me. Iām also still in that place of needing a lot of comfort from the food that I eat. Thatās how it felt all pandemic long, and I feel like I should schedule a physical just to make sure I havenāt forever destroyed myself with all the comfort food. Anyway, I ate this bodega sandwich, and it was good.
A poet friend came over with a bunch of beautiful peonies and we went back to Lella Alimentari when there was a break in the rain. And we had more coffees. Fueled by caffeine, always.
I just grazed at night. I made myself a cup of tea and had enough leftovers from all of the food adventures of the day that I did the thing you can only do when you live alone and nobodyās watching. I ate variety of things that have no relationship to one another, whilst wearing the most ridiculous outfit on planet earth, and called it a day.
Sunday, May 10 I met up with my friend Marlon and his partner Nick and we went to Gertie in Williamsburg, which is also really fun because the publishing group I work at also publishes cookbooks. One of my colleagues had given me Gertieās pastry-chef Melissa Wellerās book, A Good Bake, which is a really good one. I baked from it a lot when I was in L.A. One thing I had been desperately craving was a good bagel with lox and a shmear. They had that. I had also been craving a decent matzo-ball soup ā there actually are some good delis in L.A. where you can get a bowl, but they were all across town from me,Ā and I was really missing the matzo-ball experience. So even though it was like 10 a.m., I got a big bowl of matzo-ball soup, a bagel with lox, and a mimosa, and I was like, Oh wow, brunch! I forgot about brunch!Ā
I went home for a little bit and then to a little Japanese store in my neighborhood called The 3rd Floor. She makes these amazing rice balls and miso soup and various coffees and teas and sells a lot of Japanese snack foods.
Thereās a place in my neighborhood called Cozy Royale, which is a restaurant and bar opened by the guys who run my local ā everybody is going to know exactly where I live,Ā this is the worst ā butcher shop. The shop hasĀ been around for a long time, theyāre great and they have a little grocery in there and have amazing taste. TheyĀ do lots of chilis and prepared foods and sauces, so itās really cool that they opened up a restaurant. WeĀ just had a drink. Me, a glass of wine. Iām always a Sauvignon Blanc person but this was a really funky one ā a very unfiltered natural Sauv Blanc. I had forgotten about the natural-wine vibe in New York, and itās funny because I used to be really into it in 2004. Thereās a book, Kermit Lynchās Adventures on the Wine Route, and I just happened to read it many years ago without any sense there would be anĀ enormous natural-wine scene that would beĀ taken for granted many years later.
AnĀ important part of my ritual is thatĀ I have aĀ regular bar whereĀ I like to go read. Iām there almost every day. Thereās a big backyard at my favorite bar which I refuse to name. Theyāve known me for years. They open atĀ 4 oāclock and they have Wi-Fi and a burger that I am down with. I usually pop over any time I have a hole in my eating schedule and read manuscripts and proposals and have a burger and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Wine. Donāt say Sauvignon Blanc three times, people are going to think Iām such an asshole.

Hilaria Baldwin took to Instagram to share her and her husband Alec Baldwin‘s baby boyĀ Eduardo‘s recent health scare.Ā
Sharing a photo of herself in a blue surgical mask with Eduardo on her lap, she wrote, “We had a scary experience where Edu had an allergic reaction. I don’t know to what yet, but it was one of those horrible moments a parent dreads. My kids don’t have allergies, so this was a first. Doesn’t matter how many kids you have, there are always moments that shake us, as there is no way we can prepare.”
The yoga instructor also explained what the cameraĀ didn’tĀ show, writing, “This was after he was better, the vomit on my clothes had dried, and my friend sent a pic to Alec (who is away working) to let him know it was going to be ok. I’m grateful to you, doctors and nurses and other healthcare professionals. I won’t mention your names here, but you know who you are, and I hope how much my heart is connected to your care and kindness.”

We felt incredibly protective of Shay and cheered her on as she bravely lived in fear yet faced it head-on when forced to. It was such an emotional journey. A journey fate didnāt want her to live alone once the equally haunted, Brody joins her in her safe haven escaping his very own demons and tragedy. Goodness, how we loved these characters!

What we absolutely love about Catherine Cowles is the -on point- balance of character development, depth of story, and background; she lets us experience all the pivotal moments rather than just telling us about them. She involves us -as readers- making us feel a part of it, thus inviting us to feel everything her characters do. And did we ever! The setting of Harbor Island in Reckless Romance is so remote and almost isolated ensuring that we felt like we too were in hiding, alongside Shay, our vulnerable yet brave heroine. Sometimes silence can be deafening, but other times it can be a comfort blanket protecting us, giving us strength. Especially when having had an extremely traumatic event shatter life as you know it, hovering like a dark turbulent storm waiting to strike once more. Reckless Refuge was intense. It was beautiful, suspenseful, and thrilling, it was highly evocative with strong characters who inspired each other through friendship and love. Two extremely creative and artistic souls recognised each other which meant safety, happiness, and love replaced fear, guilt, and regret.

John Morales had the pleasure of mixing many of Teena Marieās original records over the years, so it felt natural to dig into the archives and select his favourite cuts to rework, extend and subtly update in his own distinctive style. While by no means a definitive collection of Lady Teeās expansive musical catalogue, āLove Songs & Funky Beatsā represents a fitting tribute to a multifaceted and important voice in popular music, by one of the most storied mix engineers and remixers of our age.
Jumping into the music industry deep end in 1979 with a three-year mentorship from Berry Gordy & Rick James at Motown, Teena Marie then spent seven fertile years with Epic, which yielded her greatest commercial successes (including the classic album āStarchildā). After founding an independent label āSaraiā, Marie took a ten-year hiatus which ended in 2004 in a deal with hip hop label Cash Money Records; a less unlikely partnership than some might assume, given that Teena was one of the first āmainstreamā artists to perform a rap verse, on 1981ās āSquare Bizā.
Teena Marie Brockert forged a unique path through the industry, an artist in-charge of her own destiny, influencing (and heavily sampled by) both the hip hop and R&B sounds of the 90ās and early 2000ās. Her 1982 lawsuit against Motown records resulted in āThe Brockert Initiativeā, which has benefitted literally thousands of other artists by making it illegal for record companies to āshelveā artists by keeping them under contract without releasing their material. She continued to tour regularly and deliver commercially successful, expertly sculpted music, right up until her untimely passing in 2010.
