That Time Gwyneth Paltrow Hid Out At Her Parents’ House For Weeks After Oscar Win

0

When you win an Oscar, you instantly become the talk of the town, and that’s what happened to Gwyneth Paltrow, for better and for worse, when she nabbed the prize in 1999. She said she felt like she needed to just hide out at her parents house, and she apparently did for three weeks. Her mother is Blythe Danner, who is also an award-winning actress, and her father was director/producer Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2002 due to complications from cancer.

Watch Maya Rudolph Return as BeyoncĂŠ on Saturday Night Live

Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph returned to her former haunt this week, hosting the March 27 episode with music guest Jack Harlow. Early in the show, she appeared as BeyoncĂŠ working her way through increasingly spicy sauces on an episode of Hot Ones. Watch it happen below.

Rudolph has made multiple appearances as Beyoncé on SNL, including a 2012 post-Grammys sketch about baby Blue Ivy that featured Justin Timberlake as Justin Vernon and Kristen Wiig as Taylor Swift. Rudolph’s latest Beyoncé costume recalled the singer’s real-life look at the Grammys earlier this month, where she set a new record for most awards held by a female artist.

Lil Nas X Goes to Gay Hell, Legal Weed Is Coming to NY, and a Big Fat Boat Gets Stuck

0

Straight from the Interview offices—which now span from midtown Manhattan to brownstone Brooklyn, L.A. to the U.K., and beyond—this is the Word Wide Web Bulletin, a compilation of our favorite internet gossip from this week. This week: Lil Nas X releases “Montero (Call Me By Your Name), the state of New York is ready to legalize pot, and a thicc boat stuck in the Suez Canal may cause a worldwide toilet paper shortage. Let’s talk about it.

It’s a Good Day to be Gay, Thank You Lil Nas X

Image from Lil Nas X’s Instagram, @lilnasx

Breaking News: The Gay Mafia strikes again. Lil Nas X, the queer country wunderkid of hip-hop has released his highly-teased new song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” The instant queer anthem and its accompanying music video, which has nearly 2 million views in less than 12 hours, have stirred up celebrations all over the internet due to the video’s unapologetic expression of identity. Lil Nas X takes a trip to hell to give the devil a sensual lap dance, because why not, while only wearing a pair of classic CK briefs, thigh-high dominatrix boots, and a hot red braid, inches long. It’s a serve, and whatever comes after a serve. The artist posted a message on Instagram to his 14-year-old self, explaining the meaning of the song and why coming out is not only a service for himself but as he puts it, “this will open many doors for many other queer people to simply exist.” We can’t help but tear up. GAY RIGHTS!

New York is One Step Closer to Legalizing Marijuana

Sound the alarm, a new dank dawn is here for the state of New York. State officials announced that they have come to an agreement with the governor (yes, that one), to legalize recreational marijuana. The long-time-coming legalization would allow delivery of cannabis and the opening of spaces where marijuana can be consumed—pot hangouts, if you will, according to the Paper of Record. Fans of the plant could also grow up to six Mary Jane plants for personal use. If all of this is approved, in about one year all these changes could be coming to NYC. Imagine the possibilities! We asked 15 New Yorkers to give us their opinions about it. Plus, get a BTS look into the business of delivering drugs during the pandemic in NYC here. Alexa, play “Mary Jane Holland” by Lady Gaga.

A Big Fat Boat Has Destabilized the World Economy

The world economy is currently spiraling due to the Ever Given, a big fat boat—it’s literally 400 meters long—getting stuck in the Suez Canal on Tuesday. The ship caused major disruptions in what is considered one of the most important waterways of the world. The canal connects the Mediterranean with the Red Sea and shipping lanes to Asia. According to The New York Post, the blockage could cause a worldwide toiler paper shortage. (Not again!) Thankfully, as of this morning, the big boat had been partially refloated, which means traffic will resume shortly, but the memes will go on, and on, and on. The event has even given birth to a new website, Is the ship still stuck, where you can track the ship in real-time. Fun times for the end of the world, right?

R.I.P. Jessica Walter—Acting, Insulting, and Winking Legend

The great actor Jessica Walter, known for playing the iconic Lucille Bluth in Arrested Development, died this week at the age of 80. Though many know her for the scene-stealing role, Walter’s career spanned over six decades, from working with Clint Eastwood in his directorial debut, Play Misty for Me, to her Emmy-nominate roles in Trapper John M..D. and Streets of San Francisco. The internet was quick to mourn the loss of a great actor, who had a knack for dark, twisted humor. In her honor, revisit this interview from 2014. As Lucille Bluth would say: “We’d like to cry, but we can’t spare the moisture.” 💔

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Featuring Shrimp Tails: The Saga

A man who is married to Topanga—yes, from Boy Meets World—found what seems to be shrimp tails inside a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. His story went viral. The internet loved it for a few days. Then, things got weird. It’s a saga.

We’re Sort of “Obsessed” with Addison Rae’s Pivot to Pop Star

About a month ago, we told you that Addison Rae’s real dream was to act. The TikTok sensation-turned Hollywood star—she’s set to star in He’s All That, the Gen Z remake of the ’90s Rom-Com She’s All That—knows that in order to keep the industry guessing, artists must keep evolving. Now, she’s pivoted her career to singing, releasing her first song “Obsessed,” an auto-tune fever dream where Rae talks about being obsessed with herself, but like in a healthy “you go girl” way, we think? “You say you’re obsessed with me/ So I took a second/ And I said ‘me too’/I’m obsessed with me as much as you,” she sings over a sultry R&B-meets-pop beat. Honestly, loving ourselves is a vibe we can all get behind. Watch her review a few hoodies for Interview below, and read her interview here.

GOURMET BAY AREA BURGER CHAIN, INIBURGER DEBUTS NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN & ICE CREAM SANDWICH FOLLOWING RAVE REVIEWS FROM LOCAL FOODIES!

0

iniBurger, the Bay Area’s newest fast-casual burger chain serving up a 100% halal menu, has introduced an unexpected flavor combination to its permanent menu at both the Fremont and Pleasanton locations. Rivaling popular Nashville Hot Chicken vendors like Dave’s Hot Chicken, World Famous Hot Boys, Gus’s and others, iniBurger’s Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich is a fan-favorite, and in time for National Hot Chicken Day on March 30th, iniBurger has unveiled its Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich topped with a massive scoop of vanilla ice cream! Having previously tested this secret menu hack with Bay Area foodies and receiving high remarks for the sweet and savory twist, the Bay Area concept, well-known for challenging what can be served between two buns, has announced that the innovative creation is here to stay. To mark the debut, guests can enjoy buy one, get one free on the new sandwich on Tuesday, March 30 – National Hot Chicken Day – at both iniBurger locations.

The beloved eatery’s take on the popular Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich is made with a juicy fried chicken patty, house special Boom Sauce, cayenne sauce, and topped with pickles and housemade coleslaw for a fresh crunch in every bite. Where other well-known hot chicken joints go deep in heat, iniBurger goes wide in variety by adding an innovative spin on the popular sandwich. Both the traditional Nashville Hot Chicken and the Nashville Hot Chicken and Ice Cream sandwiches are crafted using cage-free poultry that’s fed a strict, all-vegetarian diet. The 100% halal chicken is void of any antibiotics, added hormones and animal by-products, ensuring the highest-quality meat and fresh flavor that you can taste.

“We know that almost every popular chain has their take on the Nashville Hot Chicken, but the only variation typically offered is the level of heat,” said iniBurger’s founder Abdul Popal. “Unfortunately, this makes it so diners that are not spice-inclined don’t get to experience the depth of flavor packed into these sandwiches. Don’t get me wrong, our sandwich is hot. But, the unique addition of a massive vanilla ice cream scoop cuts the heat and elevates the flavor in a way that sets us apart. We’re not here to make the same, overdone spicy chicken sandwich that everyone else is making. It’s just not our way. Our commitment to constantly push the envelope of flavor combinations and introduce the unexpected is what keeps diners coming back for more.”

Since iniBurger’s debut last year, the gourmet burger concept has been taking the Bay Area by storm for its eclectic twists on classic American eats. In addition to the Nashville Hot Chicken, other offerings gracing the menu include customizable burgers in B’igi (4 oz) and M’ini (2 oz) form, Western BBQ and Hawaiian Spice burgers, chicken wings and tenders, nacho fries topped with crispy fried chicken, shakes and more, giving customers a wide range of menu items to choose from. A few out-of-box items are also featured, including a Falafel Burger as well as the Waffle’n Out made with a crunchy waffle potato bun stuffed with a crispy chicken patty, Boom Sauce, melted cheddar cheese, grilled onions, turkey bacon and a fried egg.

iniBurger’s two locations in Pleasanton and Fremont are both open seven days a week. The Pleasanton location (4233 Rosewood Drive #11) and Fremont location (44029 Osgood Rd. #149) are open Sunday through Thursday 11am-9pm and Friday through Saturday 11am-9:30pm. The Real Reason Hollywood Won't Cast Rupert Grint Anymore

The Real Reason Hollywood Won't Cast Rupert Grint Anymore

After starring as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, Rupert Grint seemed ready to rule Hollywood. But a series of poorly received films and odd personal choices have kept the actor from fully embracing the spotlight. What happened? Here’s why Hollywood won’t cast Rupert Grint anymore.

Letting go of one of the most iconic roles in pop culture is clearly no easy task. Rupert Grint has admitted that even he has trouble separating himself from Ron. He told Vulture in 2017:

“I think it’ll always be with me. I had a weird relationship with that character because after that we kind of merged into the same person. I find it very hard to separate where I end and Ron begins.”

But closing the Harry Potter chapter of his life was so tough that Grint considered quitting acting altogether. He told Entertainment Weekly in 2017:

“We had such an intimate and intense few years in this bubble…I wanted to live a little bit. I felt like I’d missed out on a lot…It was nice to just be away from it and not have any kind of commitments at all, and just be a bit free.”

Compared to fellow Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, Grint took on a much lighter workload between Potter films. Appearing in only three indie projects toward the end of the series, he missed out on truly showcasing his acting skills when all eyes were on him.
