Killing Eve TV Show on BBC America (Cancelled or Renewed?) – canceled + renewed TV shows

Killing Eve TV show on BBC America: canceled or renewed for another season?

(BBC America)

Network: BBC America.
Episodes: 32 (hour).
Seasons: Four.

TV show dates: April 8, 2018 — present.
Series status: Ending.

Performers include: Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, Kirby Howell- Baptiste, Kim Bodnia, David Haig, Darren Boyd, Sean Delaney, and Owen McDonnell.

TV show description:
Based on the Villanelle series of novels from Luke Jennings, the Killing Eve TV show was developed for television by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who writes and executive produces the TV series.

The crime thriller centers on MI5 security officer Eve Polastri (Oh) and Villanelle (Comer), a capricious yet capable killer. Essentially a desk jockey, Eve yearns for the more challenging life of a spy. Meanwhile, Villanelle (Comer) revels in the high life made possible by her brutal, illicit career as an assassin.

Most days, Eve spends her time assigning protection to foreign visitors of interest, for their trips to London. Still, she dreams of working as a top-secret spy hunter. Despite her degree in criminal psychology and a career in risk assessment, she has lived a rather safe, sheltered life.

When Eve gets bored, she gets lazy, and boy is she bored. Although she and her husband, Niko (McDonnell) have a good marriage, her dissatisfaction with her life is growing. She started tracking a new, female assassin on her own. What will she do, now that their paths have crossed?

Villanelle, meanwhile, couldn’t look more innocent. Beneath her benign facade though, lies the heart of a ruthless killer. A true psychopath, Villanelle isn’t troubled by anything so trifling as a conscience.

Remarkable in her own right, Villanelle has a flare for the whimsical. She never shies from pushing things to the limit with her handler, Konstantin (Bodnia), either.

Once upon a time, she had nothing of her own. Now though, this beauty appreciates the finer things in life, and she wants to hold onto them if only she can keep her own weaknesses from tripping her up.

As Eve closes in on Villanelle’s true identity, she starts taking more risks. Will she catch this predator, or end up as her prey? Ultimately, who is the cat and who is the mouse? Stay tuned.

Series Finale:
Episode #32
This episode has not aired yet.
First aired: TBD

What do you think? Do you like the Killing Eve TV series? Should this BBC America TV show be ending or renewed for a fifth season?

Sisters

  • Written and Directed by: Jess Brunetto
  • Starring: Sarah Burns, Mary Holland, Jorma Taccone, Rob Huebel, Florence C.M. Klein
  • Rating: 8/10

If the story of two estranged siblings coming together to help care for their gravely-ill mother sounds familiar, you wouldn’t be blamed for believing such as you’re right andĀ SistersĀ doesn’t shy away from knowing its genre and tapping into tropes of it for good. Unlike plenty of feature-length efforts of a similar story, Jess Brunetto’s implementation of the topic into a short format prevents it from overstaying its welcome or creating a meandering plot around it, but rather allows viewers to meet the titular siblings, choose quickly whether they feel a desire to connect to either or both of them and just enjoy the character moments and humor that all feels authentic and grounded, thanks in part to the stellar turns from stars Sarah Burns and Mary Holland.

See You Then

  • Directed by: Mari Walker;Ā Co-Written by: Mari Walker & Kristen Uno
  • Starring: Pooya Mohseni, Lynn Chen, Nican Robinson, Danny Jacobs
  • Rating: 8.5/10

Aside from maybe Richard Linklater’s iconic BeforeĀ trilogy, it’s rare that filmmakers explore the topic of a couple reuniting years after they originally split and have each gone on to live their own lives, but even moreso when one of the two have undergone a transition in the time since and Mari Walker and Kristen Uno’sĀ See You Then does well to explore this in a unique manner, even if a bit too surface-level. With Kris having left Naomi suddenly and without a word during their time together in college as she struggled with the realization she needed to transition, it’s pretty surprising to see how much the two get along for the majority of the film and how rarely they sit in an awkward silence or stumble. But what really sets it apart is as the film goes on and it almost seems as though there will be a reconciling of sorts between them, Walker and Uno are not afraid to pull the rug out from under audiences’ feet and see Kris and Naomi forced to confront their problems and every insult hurled, every personality flaw noted, every tear and heartbroken sigh comes across so authentically thanks to the skillful writing and Pooya Mohseni and Lynn Chen’s incredible performances, all resulting in a thoughtful, moving and insightful tale.

Lily Topples the World

  • Directed by: Jeremy Workman
  • Featuring: Lily Hevesh
  • Rating: 9/10

In exploring the world of viral stardom, so many films and documentaries tend to get swept up in the dangers and more toxic areas of that realm that when a film such as Jeremy Workman’sĀ Lily Topples the WorldĀ chooses to approach its subject with a kind-hearted and optimistic take, it’s a breath of fresh air. Lily Hevesh, the titular world toppler, is a very sweet and interesting subject and her domino art is nothing short of breathtaking, with her friends and family’s testimonies all offering a nice insight into the artist, thus allowing the viewers’ journey with her from her crossroads of choosing between remaining in college and pursuing her passion to be a compelling one. Though the documentary could’ve benefitted from diving a little deeper into Lily outside of the domino world, giving her a little more of a well-rounded profile, it still proves to be a thoroughly satisfying and charming watch.

Woodland Dark and Days Bewitched

  • Directed by: Kier-La Janisse
  • Rating: 6/10

The subgenere of folk horror is certainly a joy to behold and its history is a rich textbook with intriguing connections to the various social standings and while Kier-La Janisse’s Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched clearly did its research to explore this realm, it might have gone a tad too far. Running at over three hours long, the film certainly covers nearly every extent of the world of folk terror but the problem is it doesn’t move at a quick enough pacing and the expert testimonies frequently tend to circle back to the same points made earlier in the documentary, illuminating a need for trimming of some fat to shorten the length and make for a smoother and more quickly-compelling documentary. That being said, the film is still relatively interesting and the experts referencing titles even the biggest of cult fans might not have heard about proves to be an enjoyable enough exploration for hardcore genre fans.

Broadcast Signal Intrusion

  • Directed by: Jacob Gentry;Ā Written by: Tim Woodall and Phil Drinkwater
  • Starring: Harry Shum Jr., Kelley Mack, Chris Sullivan
  • Rating: 7/10

Aside from his filmmaker son, it feels as though the unique style and atmosphere of David Cronenberg’s cult classic filmography, namely his techo-surrealistĀ Videodrome, has yet to truly be recreated by another filmmaker, though one of the few to come close not once but now twice is Jacob Gentry, one of the minds behind the woefully-underrated 2007 gemĀ The Signal and now the eye in the director’s chair ofĀ Broadcast Signal Intrusion. Following video archivist James as he falls down a rabbit hole of obsession in an effort to solve the mystery behind a series of broadcast signal hacks and their potential connection to his partner’s disappearance, the film may initially start out on the path of a fairly traditional narrative formula, but as it progresses it takes a few interesting twists and turns that keep things more baffling and ambiguous. While this approach worked in Cronenberg’s favor on the 1983 pic, it proves to be a bit more of a hindrance forĀ Intrusion, with the film’s sudden arrival of a conclusion at the end feeling more akin toĀ The RingĀ orĀ FeardotComĀ than something original or compelling. That being said, Gentry’s direction is sleek and superb, Harry Shum Jr. delivers an absolute powerhouse of a lead performance and the visuals and atmosphere are appropriately haunting, resulting in a fairly chilling return to the ominous tech-based horror of the past.

MYSTIC Drops Collab-Heavy Debut Album ‘HUMAN’ [INTERVIEW]

0

MYSTIC delivers a refreshing change of pace with his debut album HUMAN, out today.

The album features a smooth hybrid of hip hop and EDM influence, exploring a vast range of sounds and moods within a cohesive space. It’s aĀ stark change up from the aggressive bangers we’ve heard from MYSTIC in the past, as he delves into a more melodic, vocal-driven realm.

With a feature on every track, HUMAN,Ā celebrates the voices of 11 different artists — 24HRS, J. Spooks, Jezzabell Doran, Mixed Matches, Jean Aguilera, Talia Stewart, Melissa Brooks, OBLUE, O’Zilla,Ā Codeine Chriss, and Rockie Fresh. The productions are guided by MYSTIC’s newfound artistic vision, which he expands on in the interview below.

Standouts for us include ā€œHEADACHEā€ featuring Jezzabell Doran, which reminds us of our favorite early 00s track with a new school level up. Also, ā€œSUPERLOVEā€ featuring Mixed Matches and ā€œUNFAIRā€ featuringĀ Talia Stewart, as MYSTIC’s trap flair really shines through.

MYSTIC – HUMAN

Stream/download: https://ffm.to/humanalbum

First up, how are you holding up with everything going on in the industry?

With everything going on, it really made me step up my game and go harder, definitely took me out of my comfort zone. I was able to focus on my sound and my style to create something I’ve never created before. All things considered, I feel the lockdown allowed me to hone in on my craft and come closer to unlocking my potential in music. It also opened doors for me amidst the pandemic, which feels surreal to me being someone wanting to constantly prove themselves. It’s just the beginning, but it’s been ever the more motivating for me as of late.

Please, describe the MYSTIC sound and explain how it has shifted over the past year…

I definitely feel my sound has evolved drastically over the years. The sound of MYSTIC is a ā€˜chrome fantasy persona’ where I’m able to bring my ideas to life in one beautiful picture vs before. I feel I’m able to use my platform and take it in any direction without fear. It’s important for an artist to not feel limited within their creative circle and make whatever they wish to make without judgment or backlash. I try to treat every record as if it’s my last… I think with the struggles I’ve been through mentally along with the foundation that’s built, I have now found my sound and it’s only going to keep evolving from here. I’m super excited to see where this journey will go. We will fly high, together.

The album is a unique hybrid of hip hop / EDM influence… Can you tell us about that?

I spent a lot of time thinking about what I really want to do and the style I want to pursue. I felt the album should best reflect who I am, and to do that, I wanted to draw influences from styles I really resonate with musically as well as add my own flavor to each track. I grew up around different genres and that influenced me to become who I am today, I have no limits at this point is my life this album proves just that. I wanted to branch out to new horizons and showcase the vision and I have for the MYSTIC brand and the musical direction I’ve wanted to pursue since the beginning.

And every track has a feature! How was it working with so many artists on a single project?

It was amazing being able to work with each artist and create something we both loved. I felt elated being able to work with such great creative minds and make friendships in the process. Everyone on the album brought nothing but good energy, and put their hearts into it like me and that’s why I think this album is as great as it is. They all helped me fulfill the concept I had for the project to the fullest extent. I’m a huge fan of each one of these people and have limitless respect for them. It’s fun to make history with your influences, especially growing up listening to Rockie Fresh & 24HRS so I’m grateful to knock that out on my bucket list of accomplishments.

What else can we expect from MYSTIC in 2021?

In 2021 beyond, you should expect the unexpected… I’m sitting on the most impactful bodies of work I’ve ever created, and I’m excited to share with you there has been a tremendous amount of love flowing my way and around my team as well as good friends. It’s been a really refreshing time for me, and I’m thankful to have these blessings. It’s also been amazing to work with my friends and make innovative music with them. Finally, you can expect all types of genres from me these coming months! I feel the love I’ve been getting has enabled me to feel more comfortable making different music. I am extremely grateful and eager to give that energy back out to my supporters.

Anything else you want to plug?

I will continue doing my part to promote as positive a message as possible and try to spread as much positive energy and music that only reflects my best effort. I want to also say that protecting your energy and maintaining a healthy balance between caring for yourself and caring for others is important in securing a fulfilling life. In addition, I want to also say thanks to POST PRODUCTIONS, STUNNA POSSE and BADMOUTH for being the best team I could ever ask for in the game. I feel with such a team with me, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. Expect to see the MYSTIC name more and more as we shift into the rise of HUMAN.
