San Diego School Offers âWhite Privilege Trainingâ To Teachers | National News
The San Diego Unified School District is reportedly offering a mandatory program to teachers in which they commit to being âantiracist.â
âWhite Privilege Training,â according to documents obtained by journalist Christopher F. Rufo, reveal that teachers must accept that their unconscious bias is perpetuating racial superstructures and that they will feel âguilty, anger, apathy [and] closed-mindednessâ during training sessions.
Teachers are also required to acknowledge they are living on land that was stolen from Native Americans and to watch lectures of White Fragility author Robin DiAngelo and How to be an Antiracist author Ibram X. Kendi.
Subsequently, teachers are told they are racist and âupholding racist ideas, structures, and policiesâ prior to committing to becoming âantiracist in the classroom.â

In a statement to Fox News, Maureen Magee, the school district’s spokeswoman, said San Diego Unified has a white minority, so itâs important that teachers learn how to be antiracist.
âWe are a majority-minority district with a majority white teacher workforce,â she said. âThe ability to hold honest conversations about race with grace is important, which is why we offered the training and why so many teachers elected to enroll. Our students benefit from being able to talk about race and other difficult issues, regardless of their background.
Magee added: âMost of all, we believe every open and sincere conversation about race â no matter how it begins â provides an opportunity to learn from one another, for hearts to open, and for minds to grow.”

But as Matthew Vaughn previously mentioned during the reveal of those Statesman plans, thereâs plenty of opportunity for other spinoffs in the Kingsman universe. Not to mention, with The Kingâs Man now in play, sequels to that Ralph Fiennes-led spy caper might generate sequels that would be included in that seven film tab. Of course, that depends on whether or not The Kingâs Man counts as part of the Kingsman franchise, or is considered one of the âother franchisesâ being developed.

Miley Cyrus may have a way of knowing when something is right, but she doesn’t necessarily have a way of knowing how much ink she’s had done.
The pop star appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, Dec. 7, where she played a trivia game about herself against a superfan named Paul.Â
One of the questions from host Jimmy Kimmel was, “How many tattoos does Miley currently have?”
Paul did his best and weighed in with an answer of 27. When Jimmy announced that this was far too low, it was the 28-year-old “See You Again” singer’s turn to give it a shot.
“I have no idea,” she answered. Jimmy was confused as to why he would know the correct count when she doesn’t, so the ever-candid Miley quipped, “Um, because you probably are much more coherent when I am getting these tattoos than I am.”
At that, Jimmy replied that the answer is 74 (!), leaving Miley as confused as her fan. “Huh?” she responded, definitely having trouble believing that the tally is accurate. Sadly, Jimmy did not reveal his sources, so it’s unclear as to who actually did the counting.Â

Andersonâs upcoming live-action film adaptation of Monster Hunter, giving us a preview of Rathalosâ ferocity as hunters try to fend off its fiery attacks. In addition, the film is currently wrapped-up in controversy after China has decided to remove Monster Hunter from its cinemas due to a scene involving a racist Asian joke. The filmâs producer Constantin Film has quickly issued a statement addressing the controversy, apologizing to the Chinese audience for the thoughtless line.

â[Constantin Films] sincerely apologizes to Chinese audiences for a line of dialogue contained in an early scene of Monster Hunter,â the studio said in a statement (via Deadline). âThere was absolutely no intent to discriminate, insult or otherwise offend anyone of Chinese heritage. Constantin Film has listened to the concerns expressed by Chinese audiences and removed the line that has led to this inadvertent misunderstanding.â
Monster Hunter centers on the leader of a UN military team named Artemis, played by Jovovich, who is transported to another realm populated by monsters. There she meets the Hunter (Jaa), with the two teaming up to close a portal to prevent monsters from attacking earth. The movie will be a highly stylish big-screen adaptation of the video game.

The film adaptation will be led by Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil franchise) and Tony Jaa. It will also star Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Drive), T.I. Harris (Ant-Man and The Wasp), Diego Boneta (Luis Miguel, Rock of Ages), Meagan Good (Code Black), and Josh Helman (X-Men: Days of Future Past).
Monster Hunter is written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. The film is a production by Sony Pictures, Constantin Film, and Impact Pictures with Anderson, Jeremy Bolt, Robert Kulzer, Martin Moszkowicz, and Dennis Berardi serving as producers.
