Skydance Games announced that its upcoming Marvel video game has been delayed, pushing back one of the more anticipated titles set in the world of Marvel.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed to an undetermined date as of now. In a statement on the game’s delay, Skydance Games said that it would be moving the title “beyond early 2026,” which was its original release window.
“To fully realize our vision for MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’ve made the decision to shift our release window beyond early 2026,” the company wrote in a statement on social media.
While Skydance Games did apologize for the delay, they said it was necessary in order for the company to ensure the game “meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect.”
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was originally revealed in 2024, and quickly caught fans’ attention for its stellar trailer. The game, like its name suggests, is set in 1943, and follows a story that includes heroes like Captain America, Azzuri, Black Panther, Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and a Wakandan spy stationed in Paris.
As of now, it’s unclear when the game will release, so fans will have to wait for more information to come in the future.

Chris Mundy, the creator of HBO’s upcoming Lanterns series, has revealed new details about the show’s timeline and plot. He has also shared what fans can expect from the highly anticipated DC Universe project. Though an official premiere date is yet to be announced, Lanterns is expected to arrive on HBO Max next year.
The creator and showrunner of HBO’s upcoming series Lanterns has shared new details about the highly anticipated project. The show, which stars Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, is one of the key projects in James Gunn’s DC Universe.
In a conversation with Men’s Health, Chris Mundy revealed that Lanterns unfolds across multiple time periods. This posed a creative challenge in maintaining character consistency throughout. He explained, “Our story takes place in a couple of different time periods, and so the challenge was for the characters be consistent at their core.”
Praising Pierre’s performance, Mundy highlighted how the actor’s performance brought the timelines together effectively. He said, “John’s sort of a different person in one of them than he is in another. And I do think the physicality and magnetism that Aaron brings to the role brought that all together.”
The creator also praised Pierre’s background in theatre, noting that his training added precision to both the emotional and physical aspects of the character. He stated, “That theater training, that wanting to be in the minutia of the work and the craft, it really added to John’s character from all sides. It added dimension to the more physical side of the role, and to the more emotional, creative part of the role.”
Filming for Lanterns has officially concluded, though HBO has yet to announce its premiere date. In a recent interview with Esquire, Aaron Pierre said, “It was an enormous shoot. It was of a grand scale in every sense of the word.” His John Stewart will be accompanied on the show by Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan.

Butler and Chassagne married in 2003, the year before Arcade Fire released their breakout debut, Funeral. The couple welcomed its first and only child in 2013, shortly before the release of Reflektor.
In 2022, not long after Arcade Fire released WE, several women came forward to accuse Butler of sexual misconduct. The musician said that he had extramarital relationships and maintained that the experiences were consensual. Chassagne responded to the allegations with a statement showing support for her then-husband. “I know what is in his heart, and I know he has never, and would never, touch a woman without her consent and I am certain he never did,” she said. “He has lost his way and he has found his way back. I love him and love the life we have created together.”
Arcade Fire returned earlier this year with Pink Elephant, their first album since the allegations against Butler. The band also went on a tour in support of the album that wrapped up in the spring. Today’s statement on Butler and Chassagne’s separation suggests that the group will tour again soon.
