Miley Cyrus Got Candid About Her Marriage To Liam Hemsworth, But How Does He Feel About That?

It’s nice to see the pair remain civil as their relationship becomes a public conversation once again. Amidst her comments about the nature of their breakup, Cyrus was respectful toward Liam Hemsworth too, commenting that she still really did “love him very, very, very, much” and still does.
Teena Marie – Hey Boy [First Class Love Rare Tee Grooves]
[Hey Boy! I got a message for you]: Nataly’s Corner is most definitely open for business for all females who can relate to going thru those “love jones blues”. Not talking about the kind of “love jones blues” when you have a temporary spat with your guy…and then you make-up and it’s all good. Ha! I’m talking about the deep low-down “love jones blues” that’s got you aching to be near him… every… single… damm… minute! All I’m saying…is if you can’t relate…then you’re not ready to hear this Teena M. rap!
Named at birth as “Mary Christine Brockert”, Singer, songwriter, and producer Teena came roaring into the 70s soul music world like fireworks. Music critics refer to Teena as the “Ivory Queen of Soul”! Teena’s music career and discography is massive and spans over 3 decades. Everyone knows of her music collaboration with R&B singer Rick James in the early stages of her career. When she went solo, her debut album, “Wild and Peaceful”, was released in 1979 and gave Teena her first R&B top ten hit with the song “I’m A Sucker for Your Love”. Between 1979 and 1994, she produced ten albums and then decided to take a break to spend time with her daughter, Alia Rose. Teena is responsible for a famous court decision titled “Brockert Initiative” which makes it illegal for a record company to keep an artist under contract without releasing new material by the artist. Teena returned to recording and producing music in 2004 with the release of her album, “La Dona”! And just to prove to non-believers as to whether she still had it…she followed up with a few more successful projects: “Sapphire”; “Congo Square”; and “Beautiful”, which was the last project Teena Marie released before her death December 26, 2010. The “Rare Tee” album is a rare compilation Teena recorded earlier in her life.

When I first heard this LP I feel in love with all of Gil-Scott Heron music.
The best part of this LP was that I went to Tuskegee Institute and when I got there I asked some of my Instrutors what really went on here at Tuskegee and when they told me, I knew right then and there that Gil-Scott was a true Pioneer,”Tuskegee 626 someone there have gotten sick” A must have.
The first time I ever heard of Gil Scott-Heron was this album while stationed in Germany. I loved every song on it and Ive been a fan ever since.
His music was great, the lyrics made you think, and we (soldiers) had some really great times listening to it after work in the barracks. I was thrilled to find it again in CD format.
With Gil Scott-Heron its all about the lyrics. Potent, cutting, relevant song topics then … and now. But for most of his early recording career he also had Brian Jackson as collaborator, giving the songs a deeper musical groove.
A bit of jazz, blues, soul, funk; very hard to describe but easy to appreciate. The music on this album may be “dated” by some standards, but to me it still resonates.
On this classic GSH & BJ album we have social commentary in the form of tracks like “We Almost Lost Detroit” and “Delta Man”. By comparison, “Hello Sunday!
Hello Road!” and “Racetrack in France” are more rooted in jazz; almost light and breezy in the mood they invoke.
If you are looking for a place to start your Gil Scott-Scott Heron collection, wondering what the fuss is all about, this would be a very good album to start with.
Love this! Just good ol music with funk, jazz, r ‘n b, afro-cuban. It’s like a gumbo pot of music. Strong lyrics. Buy this album!
My favorite GSH album. Used to listen to it regularly, way back when (on cassette!). Doing so again now (on CD…). So much gold on this one….
I have waited a long time for this Gil Scott Heron release. I dont know why it took so long. All of Gils music is worth owning but “Bridges” and “Its Your World” were always my favorites.
There is not a weak track on the disc and the music is outstanding. I saw Gil at Blues Alley a few years ago and he was still bringing the heat. Every time I hear him sing “All of the Places Weve Been”, my life flashes before me.
No other vocalist/musician compares to this mans natural ability to make you feel something deep and meaningful. He is a true American treasure. There are still a couple of CDs missing from his collection like “Real Eyes” and “Secrets”.
So hopefully “Bridges” will trigger the release of his entire catalog. I hope Gil is doing well. During a time when most music is falling short, this music soars above the rest.
Agree completely with the previous reviewers. I still have my original vinyl copy and Bridges is one of the reasons I still have and use my turntable.
I have been looking and checking for years for this to come out on CD. YEAH!!! I have been listening to this record for 30+ years and as another reviewer stated the the lyrics paint a picture.
The package (lyrics, music, vocal incantations) have always put me right in the middle of that “racetrack” or in my car cruising down I95 to visit my home and relatives in the South, or when I worked in the environmental industry and stood at the base of a nuke plant cooling tower looking up, and “Detroit” running through my head.
I think this is a must have or at least must hear and if it doesnt take you to where Gil and Brian are “comin from” then you must be one of the “deaf, dumb, and blind”.
A masterpiece from our poet of the 70’s and 80’s, MAY HIS MUSIC LIVE ON

Sweet Parents Review
Sweet Parents opens with a young couple, Will and Gabby, looking at various apartments in New York City. The first is a basement that barely functions as appropriate, the second has yet to be vacated and the third comes with a Nazi swastika painted on the wall.
“What are we doing here,” a frustrated Will asks. “I get it, everyone has to struggle here. I know it takes time. You don’t just find five-hundred dollars sitting in the middle of an empty street. We find a dollar bill floating in a puddle of mud with fifty hands grabbing for it.”
And so, begins a story many can relate to in which an ambitious couple struggle to make ends meet in a highly competitive world where opportunities are rare and success is based more on who you know than actual skill.
Will, an aspiring chef, must deal with pompous restaurant managers with zero food knowledge and terrible people skills. Gabby must contend with the complicated world of design where her sculptures have yet to make much noise.
One night, the couple meet a man named Pierce who brags about his recent travels to the Hamptons. As it turns out, Pierce latched onto what he dubs a “sweet parent,” or a rich older person who gives him everything he wants in exchange for, ah, intimacy. “You should try it,” Pierce exclaims to Will, who scoffs at the idea and proclaims, “He’s the reason this city is so goddamned expensive!”
Naturally, Gabby begins mingling with an older Brazilian man named Oscar and, unwittingly or not, finds herself the recipient of his lavish gifts. The man is well connected and whisks her away to other countries where she has the opportunity to show off her work to renowned artists across the globe. Will, unsure how to react to Gabby’s new relationship, mainly knowing he can’t possibly compete with Oscar’s extensive bank account, then proceeds to find his own “sugar momma,” or, a woman named Guylaine who likewise uses her considerable resources to help his career.
Amidst their newfound success, Will and Gabby’s relationship struggles; and before long the couple must choose between love and career.
Sweet Parents is a fascinating morality tale that asks some very intriguing questions. Is it realistic to have a family and a successful career at the same time? Is it wrong to latch onto someone with more experience and resources, even if the relationship doesn’t result in intimacy or love? Can a young relationship survive the difficulties that come with financial hardships?
The film doesn’t offer any solutions — probably because none exist — but warns that whatever decision we make will ultimately come laced with regret. In other words: choose wisely and prepare to live with the consequences.
Sweet Parents is well acted and well-constructed. We know what’s coming, but the script takes the time to establish Will and Gabby’s predicament before tossing their relationship into the blender. There’s a terrific scene in which Gabby tries to convince Will to let Oscar take her to Brazil where she can mingle with other artists. A great opportunity, sure, but Gabby clearly knows where her relationship with Oscar is headed; even as she assures Will otherwise. Later, to counter Gabby’s move, Will engages in a dinner date with Guylaine and must decide just how far he is willing to go to get what he wants — a scene ripe with delicious tension.
These scenes only work because the characters are well constructed, the writing is sharp, and the acting remains on point throughout. And, to its credit, the film, as directed by David Bly, never devolves into schlock — in a manner like, say, Indecent Proposal, which likewise asked whether a small amount of sexual frivolity was worth a lifetime of financial security.
Instead, Bly keeps his camera focused intently on his characters and watches them grapple internally with decisions they know will forever impact their lives. The results are delectable — an intricate battle between the heart, mind, body and soul.

Jazz #1s gives us seventeen excellent, classic jazz tracks from the best and the brightest jazz stars ever. The diversity of artists impresses me; and the sound quality is excellent.
The album starts off sweet as sugar with Louis Armstrongs “What A Wonderful World.” Louis sings this with all his heart while the strings and the percussion carry the bulk of the musical arrangement.
Ella Fitzgerald, The First Lady Of Song, continues on with “Mr. Paganini (Youll Have To Swing It).” Ella never misses a note on this earlier recording of this ballad; and Ella masterfully changes tempos throughout the song.
Great! Moreover, listen for Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd performing the single version of “Desafinado.” “Desafinado” has a great bossa nova beat and “Desafinado” will make you want to slow dance with your sweetheart wherever you are!
“The In Crowd” is a live track recorded by The Ramsey Louis Trio; this number swings brightly as the trio scores a huge goal! As you listen you can clearly tell The Ramsey Louis Trio enjoyed an excellent rapport with their audience.
In addition, “The Girl From Ipanema” gets the royal treatment from Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz; Astruds slightly flat vocals create a hauntingly beautiful interpretation of the classic jazz number.
The musical interlude on “The Girl From Ipanema” shines brightly, too. I really like Etta James singing one of her biggest hits, “At Last.” Etta sings this without a superfluous note while the strings enhance the natural beauty of the number.
Listen also for Richard “Groove” Holmes on his single version of “Misty;” this is a very elegant arrangement. Last but far from least is the immortal Billie Holiday singing out “Lover Man (Oh, Where Can You Be?
).” Billie performs this flawlessly; what a terrific ending for this fine album! Of course, because they wanted eco-friendly packaging there are no liner notes.
We do get the years each song was recorded; and the cover art is very nicely done. Jazz #1s is an excellent album, although it is perhaps best suited for the casual fan of classic jazz music.
It is also a great addition to your music collection if you are just becoming familiar with this genre of music. At any rate, I highly recommend this album.
You wont be disappointed.
Most of these truly great, hit songs are so “friendly” that even people who say they hate jazz are likely to admit they like them.
