This is simply a very “fun” and consistently enjoyable Stitt album, which I feel only the esoteric and recherchĂ© listener, looking for I-dont-know-what, could fault–and thats certainly not me.
Its totally consistent with the lively Stitt/Patterson/James sound weve come to know and love (plus Paul Weeden on guitar for some of it here).
Patterson definitely deserves his name on the CD case cover, theres that much of his presence throughout–which the producers as much as concede on the back cover–and to the joy of his fans who, like me, DO find him a little understated in some of his outings.
