How X-Men: Days Of Future Past’s Time Travel Works

0

We’re going to Middlesex, Virginia on October, 2, 1988, where a young Donnie Darko learns about time travel the hard way. It’s a very mad world when we pick up our temporal lessons again, so take the time in-between these sessions to take a breather, pet an animal, and get as much joy as you can. But before we go, there’s the usual business to take care of.

boogaloo joe jones psychedelic jazz guitar 1967 full album lp. “latin music power” boogaloo & latin 60’s on vinyl! ıvan “boogaloo” joe jones – my fire! latinement soul ‘ afro cuban latin jazz and boogaloo ‘.

In the first place, I believe this CD is really one of the most excellent soul jazz albums. However, artists names of it might cause some misleading. This is not Bill Jennings and Jack McDuffs twin-leader album.
The leader of it is Bill Jennings, who is well-known for a guitarist of Louis Jordan & his Tympani Five. This CD contains all materials of his rare albums, “Enough Said!” and “Glide On”.
B.B. King once told that Jennings was one of his most favorite guitarists, and you are sure to understand the reason why he said so when you listen to this CD.
Of course, Jennings played often on Jack McDuffs albums, and they had very close relationship. Therefore, we can also enjoy McDuffs very groovy organ play on this CD.
Particularly I love their play on “Cole Slaw”, Jesse Stones composition. A “Must buy” item for all soul jazz fans.
First, a bit of warning: “Wild” Bill Jennings style is going to be a bit too country for most Jazz fans, and a bit too much Jazz for most country fans… Its a totally different sound than youre probably used to hearing.
— Imagine, as an example CHET ATKINS recording with Jack McDuff – – If this is something that makes you raise a brow and captures your fancy, then Id strongly advise getting this CD…
If it makes you flinch, pass on it.
– – cause theres no doubt about it, Duff was always a groovy, greasy player… and Wild Bill Jennings had plenty of TWANG in his thang… then again, if youre going to play real SOUL, theres going to have to be a bit of country in it anyway (Memphis, FYI was never located in New England.)
Boogaloo Joe Jones himself told me that a great deal of his own music was influenced by Country and Western !) – – Bills strength by the way is a type of cool, effortless yet gritty down home phrasing… when he goes off on a roll, he really riffs !
All in all, the music of Bill Jennings is basically part Tiny Grimes – – with touches of Bill Butler, and anticipations of Cornell Dupree… it fits in PERFECTLY with McDuffs sound (which back then was a lot more Leslie and Vibrato heavy), but again, I forewarn, not for everbody.
(As I write this Im listening to Brother Jack McDuffs debut LP, “Brother Jack McDuff” featuring Wild Bill Jennings…
I ever understood why they used to pair him up with bass players, because his bass lines were hotter and more rock solid than any other player, but I also have to admit an incredible lock between Wendell Marshall and Alvin Johnson.)
– – Do I miss George Benson?
Well, who wouldnt, however, its a different era, and a different sound… groovy and swinging, but in a different way, so all in all – – only two things I can say: Why arent more albums with young DUFF playing with his mentor Willis Jackson on the market?
and… Why isnt Bill Jennings better remembered?? ?
I am very happy this was uncovered and reintroduced to the public. Bill Jennings has a sound that is a treat. He only had a right handed guitar so he played it left handed upside down.
He had a short career he had a problem with gambling. He faded into obscurity after failing to payoff a loan shark who cut off the tips of his fingers.

Lyrics:
Nowhere to run
Sure as hell can’t hide in my own mind
This time
Gonna give it a try

See the one that you want
And you want bad babe
maybe I’m not ready

It’s times like these I wish I’d never been born at all
It’s times like these I need to let go to see If I fall

Don’t want you to put all the pressure of yourself
Don’t want you to put all your money on somebody else
Cause you know I know I need you, I just need time to figure it out
This love, is bad for my health

I push you away
Then get so sad when you don’t stay
It rains most day

Well your one bad babe
Ain’t nothing I’d change
And one day I’ll take you last name

It’s times like these I wish I’d never been born at all
It’s times like these I need to let go to see If I fall

Don’t want you to put all the pressure of yourself
Don’t want you to put all your money on somebody else
Cause you know I know I need you, I just need time to figure it out
This love, is bad for my health

Barefoot on the lawn
I was so glad that you called
Time threw me off course
I was so glad to see you at all
I keep you in my heart
Cuz I don’t want to move on
I keep you in my arms
Until I know what I want

Don’t want you to put all the pressure of yourself
Don’t want you to put all your money on somebody else
Cause you know I know I need you, I just need time to figure it out
This love, is bad for my health

Justine Darmon
