Carlos Santana was born in Mexico and migrated to California, USA. He formed Santana originally in San Francisco as the Santana Blues Band in 1966 and by 1967 became Santana. The music progressed rapidly from the blues into a Latin Free Jazz Rock Fusion as the band grew more progressive.
In 1969 Santana released their first album Santana. Shortly there after they played a groundbreaking set at the monumental Woodstock Concert. This is the second song in that awesome set.
