A short excerpt from the 1hr online drum workshop #02 (Mambo) which is available in full at www.busterbirch.co.uk/recordingsofdrumworkshops.
Learn to play music on the drums!
Online drum workshops covering classic styles live on Zoom with award-winning drummer and educator Buster Birch.

These sessions are not a “hang” where we sit and chat about drumming (nothing wrong with that), these are classes where you can play your drums and learn new techniques and styles from an experienced professional drummer.

Online Drum Workshops are well structured, planned and prepped lessons from a highly experienced teacher with free download resources to help you learn, including notated handouts, original play-along backing tracks and Spotify play lists of selected listening.

A beat is not a style!
Don’t just learn a beat…
Learn to understand the music you are playing.
Learn the ingredients of the music and the rhythms, and how they fit together.
Learn to understand your role in the music and what is required of you from the other musicians.

Gain confidence from knowing what you are doing and knowing when to do it.
Each session will equip you with the fundamental skills and knowledge to confidently play a simple part in the style studied and a good foundation to build on, should you wish to take it further. Series 1 includes: Funk, Mambo, Jazz (Time & Comping), Afro-Cuban 6/8, Bossa Nova, Second Line, Shuffles and Samba.
When you complete the check out process you will receive a PDF download with a link to the zoom meeting, a link to download the workshop resources and a link to a Spotify play list of selected listening.
