Caldera était un groupe américain, qui combinait jazz, funk et rock avec une grande variété de musique latine. Les explorateurs de la fusion des années 1970 comme Return to Forever et Weather Report ont influencé Caldera, mais ses membres ont également été influencés par tout, de la soul/funk de Earth, Wind & Fire à la salsa afro-cubaine, la samba brésilienne et la musique andine/péruvienne.
Les membres de Caldera, qui était dirigé par le claviériste Eduardo del Barrio et le guitariste Jorge Strunz (Strunz & Farah), venaient de toute l’Amérique latine ainsi que de certaines régions des États-Unis. Alors que le bassiste Dean Cortez et le saxophoniste Steve Tavaglione sont nés aux États-Unis, d’autres membres sont nés au Costa Rica (Strunz), en Argentine (del Barrio), à Cuba (le batteur Carlos Vega) et au Brésil (le percussionniste Mike « Baiano » Azevedo).

Caldera was an American band, that combined jazz, funk and rock with a wide variety of Latin music. 1970s fusion explorers like Return to Forever and Weather Report influenced Caldera, but its members were also influenced by everything from Earth, Wind & Fire’s soul/funk to Afro-Cuban salsa, Brazilian samba and Andean/Peruvian music.
Members of Caldera, which was led by keyboardist Eduardo del Barrio and guitarist Jorge Strunz (Strunz & Farah), came from all over Latin America as well as parts of the United States. While bass player Dean Cortez and saxophonist Steve Tavaglione were US born, other members were born in Costa Rica (Strunz), Argentina (del Barrio), Cuba (drummer Carlos Vega) and Brazil (percussionist Mike “Baiano” Azevedo).
The goal is to discover for a second time , this treasure of music, made by the best musicians in the world.
