Arturo Sandoval (November 6, 1949) is a Cuban American jazz trumpeter, pianist and composer.
Sandoval, was influenced by jazz musicians Charlie Parker, Clifford Brown, and Dizzy Gillespie with whom he toured regularly.
Sandoval has won ten Grammy Awards and has been nominated a Grammy nineteen times; he has also received six Billboard Awards and one Emmy Award. As a sideman he played on many albums, a.o. with Gloria Estefan, Frank Sinatra, Michel Legrand, Candy Dulfer, Tony Bennett, Dr.John, Johnny Mathis.
In August 2013 USA President Obama presented him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
