Barack Obama is proving that he is a fan of Rihanna’s music catalog!

The former president was a guest on The Tonight Show on Friday (Dec. 4) and reminisced with host Jimmy Fallon about their past performances on the “Slow Jam the News” segments. Fallon recalled an appearance in 2016 when Obama was asked to “stiffly” sing the chorus of Rihanna’s chart-topping single “Work.”

Obama’s version of the story claims that he wanted to sing the hit song in a more hip fashion somewhat mirroring how the Barbadian singer used to perform it.

But when Fallon tried to imply on Friday night’s episode that he was relieved that Obama chose to do a more subtle rendition of the song, the former POTUS quickly said that “Work,” is actually, in fact, a favorite song of his.

“Are you saying that that would have affected my legacy?” Obama asked jokingly. “Because that is a jam, and I know that jam well, so I’m a little insulted that you didn’t think I could pull it off.”

Obama, who just released his memoir A Promised Land, also sealed his approval of “Work” by Rihanna featuring Drake after he included the track on his 2020 Summer Playlist.
