Shadient’s debut album is due this fall, and he just released the final two tastes of what’s to come — and if these and the other singles are any indication, this is going to be a phenomenal album.
‘Crash / Roadworks’ once again shows off 23-year old London artist’s superior sound design, with the help of fknsyd and Catnapp on “Crash.” The two are incredibly different sides of the electronic musical spectrum, pairing dark industrial bass with a callback to 2010s UK pop.
Shadient didn’t stop at just producing the tracks, he also offers a visual element to go along with the singles in a joint lyric video, which he created himself. Using motion graphics, old film footage and other captivating visuals, the video shows off the dichotomy between the two releases, ‘CRASH’ being dark and heavy, ‘Roadworks’ being light and promising.

One of the longest-running drama series in TV history is making a comeback. NBC is reviving the original Law & Order TV show for a 21st season. Further details, including casting, will be announced at a later date. Given the success of series creator Dick Wolf’s full night of Chicago shows on NBC and entire evening of FBI shows on CBS, it seems likely that Law & Order will be joining SVU and Organized Crime on Thursdays.
The Law & Order series initially ran on NBC for 456 episodes, between 1990 and 2010, before being cancelled. Wolf tried to find a new home for the show but was ultimately unsuccessful. Many performers came and went during the show’s long run but some of the most notable stars include Steven Hill, Jerry Orbach, S. Epatha Merkerson, Sam Waterston, Jesse L. Martin, Benjamin Bratt, Angie Harmon, Fred Thompson, Jeremy Sisto, Linus Roache, and Anthony Anderson.
Here’s NBC’s announcement about the series’ resurrection:
MEDIA ALERT
· NBC is bringing back one of its most treasured and honored dramas with the 21st season of “Law & Order.” The series, which will continue the classic bifurcated format that was created for its original run, will once again examine “the police who investigate crime and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders.”
· “There are very few things in life that are literally dreams come true,” said creator and executive producer Dick Wolf. “This is mine.”
· “‘Law & Order’ is quite simply one of the most iconic shows in television history, and the idea of continuing its legacy and partnering with Dick on an all-new season is nothing short of exhilarating” said Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, “This is great news for NBC as well as TV fans everywhere.”
· “The return of the flagship ‘Law & Order’ series for a pivotal 21st season is a proud moment for Dick and a proud moment for us, his studio partners,” said Pearlena Igbokwe, Chairman, Universal Studio Group.
· The series was nominated for more than 50 Emmy Awards and won in 1997 for Outstanding Drama Series.
· A premiere date and cast will be announced at a later date.
· “Law & Order” will be executive produced by Dick Wolf, Rick Eid (writer/showrunner), Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski.
· The series will be produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.

Death Valley Girls dropped their newest psychedelic single “It’s All Really Kind of Amazing.”
”Being in a body, experiencing reality as a human, is endlessly challenging,” singer Bonnie Bloomgarden said. “There’s so much darkness, suffering, sorrow, and division, it’s hard to get past. Sometimes, and often for too long, I just stay in the darkness, forgetting there’s anything else. And then sometimes, my guides remind me to look around, sometimes, just look around, at this Earth, at its infinite beauty and intricacy, and simplicity, and sometimes I can feel it, that it’s all really kind of amazing.”
Paying homage to bands like the Feminine Complex and Shocking Blue, the Death Valley Girls revel in the feelings and groove of ‘60s psychedelia. Matching adolescent, beautiful harmonies to those of Wendy of Bonnie, their music renders the freedom of the human experience: “You have everything / Everything that you need.”
The single is out digitally and for streaming on October 1 via Suicide Squeeze.
“We are streams of eternal consciousness experiencing reality through our personal lens,” Bloomgarden said. “And we have been programmed and have forgotten we are gods because of trauma, capitalism, and religion. So this song is a call to wake up! To remember you are magic! Abundance is the normal state… look for the signs from your guides and your higher self.”
Death Valley Girls will tour this fall with Trail of the Dead in several West Coast U.S. cities.
Shenarri “Greens” Freeman, the executive chef at Cadence, a new soul-food restaurant in the East Village, contemplates her masterpiece: two golden batons of deep-fried lasagna atop a reddish-orange tomato sauce. “I’m really proud of this dish,” she says. “It’s innovative and futuristic.” Like everything at Cadence, which is owned by serial restaurateur Ravi DeRossi, the southern-fried lasagna is vegan. “I was passionate about having it on the menu,” says Freeman, who graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education’s newly launched plant-forward Health-Supportive Culinary Arts program in June. “Lasagna is something that is a staple in many African American households. It’s something I grew up eating in Richmond, Virginia, something my mother could make that would last the entire week.” Of course, unlike Cadence’s iteration, Freeman’s childhood lasagna was full of ground beef and cheddar cheese. Her professional version is equally indulgent: “When I first proposed this dish, Ravi said it wasn’t southern enough. So I deep-fried it. After a lot of experimentation — I probably made it 30 times to get it where it is now — I decided to roll the noodle up. Otherwise it was just a hot mess. Rolling also allows for elevated plating. At most soul-food restaurants, there’s little focus on the presentation. It’s just everything on a plate, cookout style. I love that, but I just spent all this time in culinary school. I thought, Why not put some of those techniques in play? ”
Here’s how it comes together, according to Freeman:
The Crunch “The crunchiness is key, so after chilling the rolls, I double-bread them, first in 00 all-purpose flour, then I dip them in almond milk and then in rice-panko bread crumbsto create the crunchy outer texture. Fried doesn’t necessarily mean unhealthy, either. That’s one reason I use sunflower oil.
The Sauce “Our fresh tomato sauce that we serve the lasagna on top of is sweetened with maple crystals and made with fresh basil.”
The “Cheese” “As a substitute for the cheesy aspect of lasagna, I use a pine-nut ricotta. It’s very simple. All you need is a blender; pine nuts, soaked or boiled; chickpea miso, which adds umami; and salt, lemon juice, water, and pepper.”
The “Meat” “The base of the red-wine Bolognese is a mixture of Beyond Meat’s beef patties and spicy Italian sausage that I break up into a ground-beef texture plus a lot of seasoning and spices. There’s Aslina Cabernet from South Africa, which is one of the most popular wines on our list and a good way not to let any go to waste, plus some spinach and tomato sauce.”
