Whatâs This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Apple TV+ subscription service, the Foundation TV show is based on Isaac Asimovâs book trilogy of the same name. It stars Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Alfred Enoch. When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon (Harris) predicts the impending fall of the Galactic Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy. Their goal is to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hariâs claims, the ruling Cleons â a long line of emperor clones â fear their unrivaled reign may be weakening as theyâre forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their powerful legacy forever. Tellyâs Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Apple TV+ will cancel or renew Foundation for season two. Since Apple TV+ isnât ad-supported, it can take a chance on series it believes in but sooner or later it comes down to production costs, versus viewership numbers. Given that this show is based on a well-known and beloved series of books, I believe that Apple will complete this saga. Iâll keep my ears open and an eye out for news, and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on Foundation cancellation or renewal news. Â

Eddie Vedder was slated to pull headlining double duty at his Ohana Festival this weekend with a solo set on Saturday and bringing Pearl Jam back to Southern California for the first time since 2013. However, following Kings of Leonâs sudden withdrawal on Thursday to tend to a family matter, Vedder sprung into action.
The day was slightly marred by a thunder and lightning warning, but things got cooking with the Regrettes, Black Pumas and a blistering set by My Morning Jacket that was extended due to the Kingsâ absence before Vedder took the stage.
Previously at Ohana, Vedder performed solo acoustically with help from a few guests on occasion. Not tonight.
Enlisting and debuting an all-star group of musicians, including super-producer Andrew Watt, bassist Pino Palladino, Glen Hansard, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist/current Pearl Jam touring member Josh Klinghoffer, Vedder sprinted through an hour set that had the feel of a fun, garage band jamming together.
Opening with a cover of R.E.M.âs âDriveâ that featured on the Flag Day soundtrack, Vedder dedicated a moving version of âLong Roadâ to Betty Ann Followill, the mother of Nathan, Caleb and Jared Followill who died on Friday, which was followed by a cover of Kings of Leonâs early hit âMollyâs Chambersâ where he could be seen (and heard) giving instructions on how to play the song.
Â
Â
Vedderâs set also featured another musician making her debut: his daughter Olivia. Making a quip about knowing her her whole life, the younger Vedder sang âMy Fatherâs Daughter,â also from the Flag Day soundtrack. They also debuted his recently released new single âLong Wayâ from a forthcoming solo album, Earthling.
Following a spunky version of âCorduroyâ and with the clock ticking close to curfew time, the group covered the Pretendersâ âPreciousâ (Pretenders were supposed to play the 2020 edition) and the last part of âPurple Rain.â

Todayâs vote is an expected victory for delivery workers. Photo: Andrew Lichtenstein/Corbis via Getty Images
The City Council has passed a historic slate of bills meant to improve working conditions for New York Cityâs delivery workers. Itâs a big deal: The package â a direct response to the activism of Los Deliveristas Unidos, a group of mostly immigrant delivery workers â ensures delivery drivers bathroom access and minimum pay per trip, among other long-overdue protections.
âWeâve seen them face everything from COVID-19 exposure to waist-deep flood waters to violent attacks, all in a dayâs work,â Councilmember Carlina Rivera, whoâs worked closely with Los Deliveristas, told Grub via email before the vote. âThe package of bills passing today marks a critical first step toward securing rights, protections, and justice for our delivery workers.â
The measures even had support from at least one major delivery platform: a spokesperson for GrubHub told The City that the company âsupports the proposals ⊠that would provide a number of new protections.â
So what are those proposals, exactly, and how do they affect delivery workers? Hereâs a breakdown of the basics:
Delivery workers will (finally) be allowed to use the bathroom During the pandemic, the right to pee became a hot-button issue. Most other bathroom options had evaporated, and yet many restaurants wouldnât let delivery workers use their bathrooms (even though, one might note, those same delivery workers were a lifeline for restaurants, which for months were prohibited from serving on the premises at all). New York City still wonât have an actual public-bathroom infrastructure, but a bill from Councilmember Rivera requires restaurants to allow delivery workers to use their restrooms as long as theyâre picking up an order. Restaurants caught denying workers access will face fines â $50 for the first offense and $100 for every violation after.
There will be minimum per-trip payments On average, delivery workers earn $7.87 an hour before tips, or about half of the cityâs minimum wage, according to a recent report from the Workersâ Justice Project and the Worker Institute at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell. With tips, that goes up to $12.21 â still well below the minimum. This bill changes that by establishing minimum per-trip payments independent of tips.
Apps will have to tell customers where their tips go Any app that solicits tips will now be required to disclose to customers exactly where that money goes. That means laying out how much of each tip goes to the delivery worker, in what form it gets to the delivery worker (is it cash?), and whether the tip is paid out immediately.
The apps will also be required to extend that kind of transparency to delivery workers, who will be immediately notified if theyâd been tipped, how much theyâd been tipped, whether a customer had made changes to an existing tip, and, if a reason was provided, why. Every day, the platforms will now be required to alert workers of their total earnings â in both compensation and gratuities â from the day before.
Payment â and payment schedule â will be more regulated This one is relatively straightforward: Delivery platforms will no longer be allowed to charge workers any fees to receive wages and tips, will be required to pay workers at least once a week, and are required to offer at least one payment option that doesnât require a bank account.
Delivery companies will have to provide workers with insulated bags Those ubiquitous thermal delivery bags? Theyâre an unofficial job requirement, workers say, and could run them up to $60 out of pocket. Now, though, food-delivery apps will be required to make the insulated bags available to any courier who has completed at least six deliveries for the company, and are prohibited from charging any money for the bags.
Workers can limit their personal delivery zones The most controversial of the bunch, delivery workers will now be able to set limits on how far theyâre willing to travel for a delivery. Theâll also be able specify whether or not theyâll accept trips over bridges and tunnels â known danger zones for e-bike couriers â without penalty.
For Sergio Ajche, a Guatemalan food-delivery worker and organizer with Los Deliveristas, this is only the beginning. âThese six bills will help workers, but theyâre not enough,â he told The City yesterday. âOnly time, each passing day will inform us what else we should change and demand. Every day more delivery workers are getting together and the movement grows. Weâre making progress.â
The package now goes to de Blasio â a supporter of the measures â to sign.
Canons of taste and value in other media, such as literature, art and music, have been challenged in recent decades by proponents of sexual and ethnic equality. Filmâs âten bestsâ are open to similar charges, and their dominance may actively hinder efforts to raise awareness of and achievement by filmmakers outside Hollywood and predominantly European art cinema.
This lecture considers what newly assessed canons might look like.

âWe collect that which we donât want anyone else to touch. Weâre greedy by nature, making sure to possess all the things that elude us, the beautiful treasures we want. Whether its money, power, or women, our nature tells us thereâs never enough.â
We picked up Depraved by Trilina Pucci on a whim as we were in the mood for dark mafia with heat and wow we were completely satiated by the end. Weâve never read this Author before but have marked a few of her books to read over the years, now we will definitely be moving these up our to-read list. The writing was suspenseful, dramatic, passionate, humorous, and flawless. We do have to mention that we bought this book as it was listed as book one in a new Dark Mafia series, however, we discovered that it features characters from the Sinful Series in which this one is considered book three.
We have not read the previous two books in the Sinful Series so when we picked up Depraved, we thought it was all brand-new characters and new connections. Did this impact our enjoyment? We have to be honest and say, yes it did a little bit. We felt weâd missed out somewhat. So, if youâre in our position be aware that Depraved is book one in the Dark Mafia series yet book three in the Sinful Series too. If we had our time over, we would have read the Sinful Series first. Can Depraved be read as a standalone? Yes absolutely, however personally, as prolific readers we prefer to know everything that came before when charactersâ lives are as entwined as they are in this case. We have to read in order. Despite this though, we truly enjoyed it and were completely compelled by this sexy, dark, crazy ride and we canât wait for more.
âDante has a presence. You can feel him in the room. Everyone can. Heâs a dangerous, powerful manâŠâ âAsk me for help,â he growls, fisting his hands at his sides. He knows I wonât ask. âNo. Iâd be making a deal with the devil, and youâd want my soul in return.â
Depraved had everything we love, a ruthless arrogant but hot as hell dominant anti-hero, a beautiful, sassy, and fierce heroine who is as bad arse as the man who wants to devour her. Oh, and of course it had an all-consuming dark and gritty mafia storyline! We will without question pick up the next book in this series as well as go back and read the rest of the Sinful Series as we loved how Trilina Pucci managed to give us something new in the mafia world.
âHe holds up his gun and waves it. âWe played a little game of Glock, paper, scissors. Glock beats scissors.â
Depraved is the fiery hot romance between Dante and Sarah. And let us tell you, itâs scorching! The sexual chemistry is on point and the character connection is intense and passionate. Thereâs obviously quite a bit of history between them but we quickly picked up on the intensity of their need and want. Dante Sovrano is the head of the Chicago mob. Heâs not a man you cross without dire consequences. His band of brothers forged in loyalty and protection. Sarah works for Dante and his brothers, managing a classy sex club. She has secrets she wonât share and carries trauma from a horrific past sheâs on the run from.
âLove is never a choice. Itâs an affliction that youâll want to die of. And thereâs no better love than one from a man who wallows in his devotion to you.â
Suspenseful and fast-paced Depraved by Trilina Pucci kept us riveted. It was high on emotion and had fabulous character relationships. It was all about family, loyalty, secrets, and revenge. It was about love, honour, and payback. A thrilling ride we didnât want to get off. So, if you love mafia romances like we do, check this Author out!
âYouâve never looked more beautiful,â I say reverently. âBecause you choose to sit at my feet when you know that I would be the very ground you walked on if you asked.â
Nintendo shared plenty of gaming news (and one bit of movie news) in its recent Direct, but the console maker also set aside some time to speak about its Nintendo Switch Online service and its imminent expansion. This new tier dubbed âExpansion Packâ will grant access to Nintendo 64 games as well as titles from the Sega Genesis. Itâs coming âlate Octoberâ but no price was given.

Those who already subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online will be able to upgrade their subscription if they want. However, upgrades arenât mandatory as Expansion Pack is not replacing the base version of Nintendo Switch Online. The new subscription will launch with nine N64 games next month:

These nine N64 games will launch alongside the following 14 Genesis games:
Castlevania Bloodlines
Contra Hard Corps
Ecco the Dolphin
Golden Axe
Gunstar Heroes
M.U.S.H.A.
Phantasy Star IV
Ristar
Shinobi III
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Streets of Rage 2
Strider
Dr. Robotnikâs Mean Bean Machine
Shining Force
The N64, Genesis, and Switch all have drastically different controllers so Nintendo will be selling classic wireless N64 and Genesis pads for $49.99 each. These retro controllers look like their â90s counterparts and should allow players to more easily control these games with the controllers they were designed for. Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions are, oddly, required to purchase these controllers.
The Killers stopped by the most recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (September 23). The band performed âDying Breedâ from their latest album Pressure Machine from the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Watch it all go down below.
Pressure Machine came out last month. It follows the bandâs 2020 LP Imploding the Mirage. The new LP was co-produced by Foxygenâs Jonathan Rado, Shawn Everett, and the Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. It was recorded during the tour-less lull of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this month, the Killers appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, where they performed their Pressure Machine track âIn Another Life.â
