Sugar Factory American Brasserie, America’s favorite eatery and celebrity hotspot, expands with its newest location in the brand new HYATT REGENCY JFK AIRPORT AT RESORTS WORLD NEW YORK CITY in Queens, opening to the public August 9, 2021. The 12,000-square-foot restaurant is the 21st currently open location for the world-famous brand celebrating 12+ years serving the most decadent sweets and treats around the world. Sugar Factory’s official DJ, Pauly D, American television personality and one of the stars of MTV’s hit show “Jersey Shore,” will host the grand opening on Sunday, August 15. Following the opening, rapper turned business mogul, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, will host another grand opening party on Friday, September 10, celebrating the launch of the new South Side Goblet, made with his Branson Cognac.

Sugar Factory at Resorts World New York City will be located at the porte cochère entrance to the resort. The 218-seat restaurant dining room is a contemporary rendition of an old Paris brasserie bar featuring hot air balloon banquettes, café seating, floral lined walls, two large white illuminated canopy trees, and an impressive DJ booth. A private dining area with a stand alone cocktail bar will complete the room, with an additional 14 bar seats for guests to enjoy. Upon entrance, diners will be greeted by a life-size, instagrammable flower wall with neon wall art, and a glamorous dining space including interactive experiences.
The expansive retail confectionery will feature Sugar Factory’s signature floor-to-ceiling candy wall with more than 50 types of sweet treats, including a selection of novelty and bulk candy like the brand’s world-famous Couture Pops. Completing the confectionery, Sugar Factory Resorts World will also have a grab-and-go café featuring its own entrance and menu. It will offer sandwiches, salads, crepes, coffees, boba, hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate, homemade specialty rainbow doughnuts and pastries, as well as homemade gelato and ice cream.

Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sugar Factory’s menu features signature items such as monster burgers, Insane Milkshakes, savory crepes, salads, and specialty pizzas and pastas. Guests can inject a pop of color into their breakfast order with the new fan favorite, the Insane Double Stack Rainbow Pancakes — fluffy, colorful rainbow pancakes, served with warm maple syrup, powdered sugar, butter and topped with chocolate chips, gummy bears, strawberries and whipped cream with rainbow sprinkles. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction has reportedly sent a notice of removal to seven employees — five corrections officers, a supervisor and a licensed nurse — following an investigation into the death of 55-year-old inmate Michael McDaniel, who died in custody.
According to WBNS, guards used excessive and unjustified force against an inmate before he died in custody in February.
The Franklin County Coroner’s office declared McDaniel’s death a homicide, ruling the cause as a “stress-induced sudden cardiac death.”
Video released by the ODRC shows an altercation that began when McDaniel was in his cell. Even though there’s no sound, investigators say he was yelling. Two officers then approached McDaniels for a “targeted search” before opening his cell and pulling him out.

In documents released by the ODRC, the agency says Lt. Bruce Brown “took no steps” to stop McDaniel from falling to the ground and failed to call for assistance from the medical staff to transport him, WBNS reports.
After McDaniel was taken to the med bay, records say Jamie Dukes, a licensed nurse, signed a document claiming McDaniel refused care.
“However, Ms. Dukes was not in the room to actually hear Inmate McDaniel refuse treatment,” the records state. The agency subsequently noted that McDaniel never refused treatment and Dukes was also terminated Friday.
Officials say three other staff involved in the incident previously resigned. A county prosecutor still has a decision to make when it comes to filing any criminal charges.
The Marvel Studios hit film Guardians of the Galaxy is known for having its own “Awesome Mix” soundtrack that features hit songs from various points in time. Now, it looks like the upcoming video game will as well.

In a video recently uploaded to Eidos Montreal’s YouTube channel, the team behind the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy game detail the music that will be found in it, and it looks like they’re trying their best to channel the film’s energy.
According to senior audio director Steve Szczepkowski, the process behind creating the perfect soundtrack has been trying to strike the right balance between some key elements. These elements, he said, included a great orchestral score — provided by composer Richard Jacques — in order to give the game a more cinematic feel, and of course, a great group of 80s hits that give the game the same Guardians of the Galaxy feel.

“Designed to transport players back to the ‘80s, an impressive selection of pop and rock hits from the decade feature throughout the game at carefully chosen points,” says Square Enix. “Tracks include music from Iron Maiden, KISS, New Kids On The Block, Rick Astley, Hot Chocolate, and more, with plenty still to be revealed.”
Two new features were also detailed by Szczepkowski, including a new mechanic known as The Huddle. With The Huddle, players will be able to choose a track from Peter Quill’s cassette player before a fight in order to inspire the team while they battle enemies. Szczepkowski also explained how a brand new band was created in order to help with the narrative of the game.

In the upcoming game, Peter Quill takes on the name Star-Lord because of his favorite band rather than his mother, allowing Szczepkowski to create an in-game band known as Star-Lord that featured vocals from Szczepkowski himself and an 80s rock feel that aims to capture the charm that the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise has become known for.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set to launch on October 26, 2021, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Drake might finally be releasing his long-teased album Certified Lover Boy next week. A cryptic clip that aired on ESPN’s SportsCenter shows someone holding a sign that reads “CLB September 3.” A representative for Drake did not confirm a September 3 release date to Rolling Stone, but did tell the publication that the video can be taken “at face value.” The SportsCenter Twitter account alluded to the footage later in the day. Representatives for Drake and ESPN have not responded to Pitchfork’s requests for comment and information.
Drake first announced Certified Lover Boy, his formal Scorpion follow-up, in August 2020 when he also released “Laugh Now Cry Later.” A few months later, he teased a January 2021 release, but the album, of course, did not materialize. Instead, Drake released his Scary Hours 2 EP, featuring three tracks. He later featured on Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green,” Brent Faiyaz’s “Wasting Time,” Smiley’s “Over the Top,” and Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal.”
On “Betrayal,” Drake rapped “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/Forty-five, 44 (Burned out), let it go/Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone,” as quoted by Genius. His lyrics appeared to reignite a simmering beef with Kanye West. Notably, the ever-changing iTunes pre-order page for West’s new album Donda lists a September 5 release date.
Last year, Drake dropped his Dark Lane Demo Tapes, a 14-track release featuring “Toosie Slide,” his Future collaboration “Desires,” and more. In 2019, Drake released Care Package, a compilation of tracks originally released between 2010 and 2016. The project brought fan favorites—such as “Girls Love Beyoncé” and “How About Now”—to streaming services for the first time.
Dark Lane Demo Tapes was the first Drake project in 10 years that didn’t debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, ending the streak that began with the release of Thank Me Later in 2010. He made an appearance on Lil Wayne’s Apple Music radio program Young Money Radio shortly after the release of the mixtape to talk about the project, how the COVID-19 pandemic made him reconsider how he wanted to release music, and more.
