TV show description:
A drama TV show, Mr Inbetween was created by its star, Scott Ryan. It’s based on a cult film that Ryan made more than a decade earlier.

At age 40, Ray Shoesmith (Ryan) is going through a bit of a midlife crisis. He struggles to contain his anger issues and juggle all of the roles that many adult men have in life — a father, ex-husband, boyfriend and best friend. His life is further complicated because Ray also happens to be a hitman-for-hire.

Ray is a caring dad to his 8-year-old daughter, Brittany (Yasumura). She has a good relationship with her father, who she lives within a shared custody situation with her mother Jacinta and step-father Quentin.

Ray is also dedicated to his older brother, Bruce (Cassim), who is experiencing a gradual reduction in mobility and coordination due to a motor neuron disease.

One good thing in Ray’s life is Ally (Satchwell), a female paramedic he feels may be out of his league. But Ally is drawn to Ray, even if she doesn’t know the precise nature of his job.

Gary (Rosniak) is Ray’s best friend of many years. They worked together a great deal in the past, but now, he’s married to Tatiana and is trying to live a more respectable life.

Freddy (Herriman) is Ray’s boss and friend. He runs his business out of a strip joint, and is a guy that people go to if they need a hit put on someone or a debt collected. Nick (Lembke-Hogan) is a young heavy who’s been taken on by Freddy as a hitman-in-training and Ray is delegated to show him the ropes.

The wonderful Duffy has staged something of a comeback in 2015/16 with the recording and release of several new tracks, for the soundtrack of the Tom Hardy movie ‘Legend’. Added to that, Duffy performed in the movie as 60’s vocalist Timi Yuro. The song ‘Are you sure’ was originally penned by Willie Nelson and Buddy Emmons and recorded by the aforementioned singer. I am thrilled that the Duffy has emerged from her self induced retreat since the relative failure of her sophomore album ‘Endlessly’ which could never match either the quality or success of its predecessor ‘Rockferry’. Her contemporary: Adele suffered none of the second album curse; quite the contrary, where her popularity has just exploded. Sadly many artists struggle after a successful debut. Duffy has that indefinable star quality and a distinctive look and sound that delighted listeners the world over since 2007. I hope we hear much much more from her.

JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa, opened July 2020, has hired Chef Melissa Sallman as its new executive chef. In this role, Chef Melissa will oversee the resort’s upscale, indoor/outdoor steak and seafood restaurant Sear + Sea. Chef Melissa will be adding her own flair to the restaurant’s inventive dishes, bringing experience from her time at the JW Marriott Marco Island, where she spent over 3 years as executive sous chef.

Chef Melissa is no stranger to Marriott, having spent nearly the past 20 years with the company. After graduating with a culinary degree from Hennepin Technical School in 2002, Chef Melissa began working as a cook at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest, quickly rising through the ranks before moving on to Marriott properties in St. Louis, San Antonio, and Fort Lauderdale. She has been with Marriott for nearly 20 years.

Before I even met Donovan Decker, I knew his shoe size.

You see, I’d gone away for a few days, and in my haste to get out of the airport, I’d grabbed the wrong suitcase.

After checking out the expensive footwear and tailored clothes, I dialed the number on the luggage tag hoping maybe Mister Big Spender might have my bag. A deep, velvety voice answered, and as luck would have it, he had my suitcase, too.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark.

He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. Donovan wasn’t just handsome with a panty-dropping voice. He was also funny, smart, and surprisingly down to earth for a man who wore seven-hundred-dollar shoes.

Did I mention he also did my laundry while I slept?

Definitely too good to be true.

So what did I do to repay him for his kindness?

I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

My life was too complicated for such a great guy.

In the months that passed, I thought about Donovan often. But New York City had eight million people, so what were the chances I’d run into him? Then again, what were the chances I’d run into him a year later…when I’d just started dating his boss?

Kojima Thinks Death Stranding: Director’s Cut Isn’t Technically a Director’s Cut

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is the expanded edition of the 2019 game coming only to the PlayStation 5, which Sony recently showed more of during its most recent State of Play. And while “Director’s Cut” in gaming tends to be shorthand for some sort of enhanced version, Hideo Kojima said he isn’t into the phrasing.

He briefly explained his thoughts in the above Twitter thread. To him, a “cut” implies that the content was originally not totally under the director’s control. This is particularly common in films for a litany of reasons. These edits can also be shorter or longer.

But games are different. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut comes with a whole host of new content including racing, new equipment, more boss fights, and more. Many other director’s cuts are in the same camp as in they always add to a game, which is different from film where it isn’t always a given. He even calls out this difference, saying that it was about “not what was cut, but what was additionally produced.”

This, in addition to Kojima seemingly having control over what went in the original game, is why he isn’t into the semantics of the title. He also gave the loose suggestion of “Delector’s Plus” as an alternative, but “delector” isn’t in the English dictionary so it’s a little unclear exactly what Kojima meant.

According to The Guardian, the idea of a director’s cut started in films around the 1970s and has only gained prominence since. Games have just picked up lingo, but haven’t quite meant it in the same way. Sony’s upcoming Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is similar to Death Stranding‘s, as it is a PS5 upgrade to a PS4 game with more content, so the title may have been a Sony decision. Non-Sony games have adapted this naming scheme in the past including Deadly Premonition, Jazzpunk, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Resident Evil, and more. And given since these all added or remixed content instead of an alternate take on it that was previously undoable, Kojima’s point may have some merit.
