Batgirl and Zatanna Are Coming To HBO Max
Late last year, DC Films President Walter Hamada let slip that a handful of his studioâs upcoming superhero movies could eventually be released as HBO Max exclusives. Among the ideas being floated around were new features headlined by Batgirl and Static Shock. Earlier today, during an investor day presentation hosted by WarnerMediaâs parent company, AT&T, the powers-that-be finally confirmed that these plans are moving full steam ahead. Via Collider, WB teased its DC slate with a new graphic during AT&Tâs presentation. The list of titles (which spanned film, TV, and video games) included Batgirl as well as a vehicle for Zatanna. A standalone Batgirl film has actually been in the works at Warner Bros. for several years. Warner Bros. originally enlisted Joss Whedon to write and direct the movie in 2017. However, the project was shelved after he vacated the directorâs a year later. But the film got a second chance when WB hired Birds of Prey and Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson to take her own pass at the script.

Meanwhile, there have been rumors about WBâs plans for Zatanna since at least July of last year. When word got out that J.J. Abrams was developing his own Justice League Dark series, fans assumed that the young sorceress would be part of this lineup. But given what we know now, this might not be the case. Itâs not clear whether HBO Max aims to have Zatanna star in her own film or headline a new TV series. Regardless, this wonât be her first appearance in live-action. Serinda Swan previously played Zatanna in Smallville.

BTS Light Up Grammy Stage During Remote âDynamiteâ Performance
After a historical year, K-pop superheroes BTS took over their own version of the Grammys stage Sunday night from afar.
Already holding the distinction of being the first K-pop acted nominated for a Grammy award â in this yearâs Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category â the mega-group hit the Grammy stage for an electrifying performance of their Billboard Hot 100-topping single, âDynamite.â The award may have gone to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga for their chart-topping summer smash, âRain On Me,â but that didnât mean the group still wasnât fired up for their Sunday performance.
The performance saw the seven-member pack dressed in fresh suits and with funky moves to match, as they broke into their much-anticipated choreography with killer kicks. The guys recreated the Grammy set in South Korea, boogied on an orange carpet and with a cityscape backing them and sang their hearts out as they ran through the enchanting hit track.
Sunday was BTSâ second time performing at the Grammys after they linked with Lil Nas X last year for an âOld Town Roadâ cameo. But of course, this was the first time a Korean act took on a solo performance on the show, making it yet another reason to celebrate the groupâs wildly successful year.
