Offset Announces New Album Set It Off

0

Longtime Migos rapper Offset has announced his new album. It’s called Set It Off and it’s set for release on October 13. It will mark the Atlanta artist’s second solo studio album, following his 2019 debut, Father of 4. Ahead of the album’s release, on September 15, Offset will also release the new single “Fan.”

Following Father of 4, Offset released one more album with Migos, Culture III. He’s more recently shared the singles “5 4 3 2 1,” “Code,” and “Jealousy.”

Last year, Offset sued his and Migos’ longtime label, Quality Control Music, over the ownership of his solo recordings. Earlier this summer, he voluntarily dropped the lawsuit.

Set It Off will mark Offset’s first project since the 2022 shooting death of Takeoff. The rappers’ Migos bandmate, Quavo, also recently issued a solo album, Rocket Power.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Jean-Claude Van Damme Johnny Cage Skin Shown in New Hot Ones

0

Even though Mortal Kombat 1‘s early access launch is just a week away, NetherRealm Studios is still holding some cards close to its chest. It only just showed off Nitara, who is played by Hollywood star Megan Fox. And now it has finally revealed what fellow Hollywood actor Jean-Claude Van Damme will look like in the game as Johnny Cage.

The Jean-Claude Van Damme skin is for Kombat Pack owners

NetherRealm unveiled this special skin during series co-creator Ed Boon’s episode of Hot Ones, a popular show where the interviewee eats spicy wings. Around six minutes in, host Sean Evans asked Boon about Jean-Claude Van Damme, which is where footage of the action star played in the game. Until now, the render hadn’t been fully shown off even though it is seemingly launching alongside Mortal Kombat 1 for those who have its season pass. Even images on the Xbox Store didn’t have any in-game renders.

The short clip didn’t have Van Damme speaking, but he is providing a voice for Cage, too. The skin also has Van Damme in his outfit from the 1988 film Bloodsport.

Bloodsport, Van Damme, and Mortal Kombat have a history, as the first Mortal Kombat was initially supposed to be a Van Damme game. As Boon told Polygon (and has said a few times before), the team wanted the Belgian actor to be the star of the title and the initial pitch had images from Bloodsport in it. It never came to fruition, which then led to Mortal Kombat being born. Johnny Cage has always seemingly been a parody or homage to Van Damme, so this skin has that link coming full circle.

Mortal Kombat has dabbled with celebrity skins in the past. Mortal Kombat 11 had skins with the likenesses and voices of DJ Dimitri Vegas, as well as Linden Ashby, Bridgette Wilson, and Christopher Lambert, who reprised their roles as Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and Raiden, respectively, from the 1995 film. Mortal Kombat X also had Carl Weathers portray Jax in a special skin bundled around the Predator DLC.

Barkin Brings The Energy On Bass House Single ‘Kitty Club’

Barkin Brings The Energy On Bass House Single ‘Kitty Club’

New-York based Producer Barkin is aiming to bring the heat back into House. His music is filled with intensity while being beautiful and groovy at the same time. Noticing the genre has lost some edge, his punchy basslines mixed with heavy synths will be setting dance floors ablaze. Vocals used as instruments and deep-moving breakdowns are integral to his tracks. While his drops will get your feet moving, each track has a meaning to be unfolded.

Now, he’s back with yet another impressive single, ‘Kitty Club.’ It’s a bass house offering that lights up your speakers from start to finish. On an even more interesting note, Barkin makes reference to each of his cats throughout, (Lulu, Borris, Betty Man, and Bella) – giving them a taste of the spotlight as the bass fuels the dance floor.

‘Kitty Club’ is easily the most fun track I have made. I loved being able to bring my cats into my passion and create something for all cat lovers alike. ‘Kitty Club’ is a special track that people always asked me about during my shows. I welcome everyone to the Kitty Club”Barkin

Arnold Schwarzenegger Pays Tribute to His Conan the Barbarian Sensei

0

Arnold Schwarzenegger took to social media this week to remember Kiyoshi Yamazaki, who helped Arnold with sword training while he worked on Conan the Barbarian.

Schwarzenegger credits Yamazaki with some of Conan’s success

In a recent tweet, Schwarzenegger reflected on his experience with Yamazaki, who he refers to as “my sensei.” In the tweet, Schwarzenegger said that he doesn’t know if Conan the Barbarian would’ve been as successful as it was if it wasn’t for Yamazaki helping him.

“I just heard the news that my sensei, Kiyoshi Yamazaki, passed away,” said Schwarzenegger in his tweet. “He was a wonderful man and a fantastic teacher who made me believable as Conan the Barbarian with his sword training. When I say no one is self-made, this is what I mean. Who knows if Conan would have been a success if Sensei Yamazki didn’t make my swordplay realistic? He played an important role in my life, he was a dear friend, and my thoughts are with his family.”

Released in 1982, Conan the Barbarian starred Schwarzenegger and James Earl Jones, and told the story of Conan (Schwarzenegger), a warrior who is seeking revenge against Thulsa Doom (Jones), the leader of a cult.

Yamazaki’s work in the world of acting is extensive, serving as sword master on Conan the Barbarian and its follow-up, Conan the Destroyer, as well as on the TV series Conan the Adventurer. Yamazaki also worked on films like DragonHeart, Red Sonja, and even David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation of Dune.

Yamazaki also served as the overseas chief instructor and president of Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai, an organization that aims to instruct and teach classical Japanese karate.
