Paul George Signs 4-year, $190 Million Contract Extension With L.A. Clippers | Sports

Paul George is slated to be a Los Angeles Clipper for a few more years.

According to ESPN, the 30-year-old small forward signed a contract extension with the team on Thursday. The deal adds four more years to George’s contract and $190 million. It’s also connected to his 2018 $137 million contract he had with the Oklahoma CIty Thunder.

George’s agent told ESPN the extension includes a player option for the 2024-2025 season. Within the next five years, George could earn up to $226 million.

The six-time All Star who is originally from Southern California said in a statement that growing up, he “always dreamed of playing in Los Angeles, where my friends and family could come watch me play.”

“I am so grateful to Steve Ballmer, Lawrence Frank, Coach Ty Lue, my teammates, and the entire Clippers organization for believing in me,” he added in the statement. “I am proud to call this my home and look forward to doing my part in helping make the team a tremendous success – both on and off the court – in the years ahead.”

In July of last year, George was traded to the Clippers and set franchise records in his first season with the team, including becoming the first player to score at least 30 points in his first two games and making the most points in a Clippers home debut (37).

Clippers head coach Ty Lue said he is “thrilled” about the extension and that George is “one of the best and most versatile players in the league.”

“He can play on or off the ball. He can score in a variety of different ways. And he can guard almost every position on the court,” he said. “His skill and leadership will be integral to everything we do for many years to come. I’m thrilled we can continue to build with PG.”

Whether they’re a protagonist or an antagonist, that’s for the audience, that’s a judgement. I portrayed her as a woman who literally is born in a world that doesn’t value her at all – that doesn’t even recognize her as a human being, but she is a person who understands her worth. So, therefore, she’s a woman who absolutely has busted a hole through 1927. She is a liberated woman. She is those people that you don’t know where the hell they came from, you know? It’s like where were you born? And she was born in Columbus, Georgia, actually. So I just saw her as a woman who knew her worth and wasn’t going to concede. It wasn’t up for discussion. I know that [as Ma] I’m great at what I do, I know it’s making you money, I should be called the Mother of the Blues. I’m influencing all these other singers, so you treat me like I deserve to be treated. And that’s it. That’s how I saw her. And of course other things, too, unapologetic about her sexuality, certainly a sensitivity and a maternal instinct and all of those things.

Anderson Cooper‘s 7 month old son Wyatt Morgan is already a foodie. 

The CNN journalist told the Food Network’s Ida Garten on the show Full Circle that Wyatt, who was born via surrogate earlier this year, is more open to new foods than his dad is. 

Anderson joked, “I have a palate of a 5 year old, but apparently a 7 month old has a much better palate.”

Wyatt’s favorite cuisine includes lots of vegetables. 

“He’s eating squash and broccoli and mashed cauliflower and mashed peas, none of which I would ever eat as a kid,” Anderson shared. “And I’m so thankful that he is.”

Anderson isn’t just a picky eater, though: He doesn’t really like any food. In 2018, he told The Hollywood Reporter that he preferred to drink Soylent, a meal replacement drink, instead of sitting down for a meal. 

“I don’t care about food,” he told the outlet. “So I’m trying to replace all food with [Soylent] because it would be, like, three fewer decisions in a day.”

While the 53 year old could take or leave a good meal, one thing he is passionate about is being a father.

Lil Wayne Sued by Former Manager for More Than $20 Million

Lil Wayne has been sued by his former managers Ronald Sweeney and Avant Garde Management for more than $20 million in what they say they’re owed in unpaid commissions, TMZ and The Blast report and documents viewed by Pitchfork confirm. 

The lawsuit claims that Sweeney and Avant Garde managed over 30 lawsuits for Wayne and “received very little compensation” for their work. They claim that Wayne hasn’t paid the promised 10% of recovery from lawsuits, 10% of the master recordings sale, and 17% in commissions from overall management.

Sweeney says he was hired by Wayne around 2005. When it was announced in 2018 that Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Cash Money had reached a settlement that ultimately led to the long-delayed release of Tha Carter V, Sweeney made a public statement on Wayne’s behalf. “I can say that my client is happy,” Sweeney said at the time. “He is his own man, a man that owns his assets, his music and himself.”

Pitchfork has reached out to Lil Wayne’s representatives for comment and more information.
