Latest Mission: Impossible Set Video Highlights Epic Car Stunt

0

Are anyone else’s palms suddenly sweating? Because the above video shows how thrilling, but also how dangerous, stunt work on major blockbusters can be. Because while filming in the narrow streets of Rome, the little yellow car made a sharp turn that easily could have resulted in a collision. And this is all done with various cameras strapped to the car, which likely impedes the ability to see properly.

Zeds Dead Reveal ‘THE LOST TAPES’ Out This Friday [DETAILS]

0

Zeds Dead are throwing it back with a brand new, old school release, THE LOST TAPES.

The bass duo consisting of DC and Hooks dropped the news last night, revealing a forthcoming collection of some of their earliest work. These dubstep pioneers came on the scene in 2009 and soon made their presence known with their iconic remix of Blue Foundation’s “Eyes on Fire.” The rest is history, but soon we’ll hear more from that timeline.

Zeds Dead share in a post:

We’ve been in the studio a lot this year and got the chance to dig through the vaults a bit while working on new music. This Friday we’re sharing some of what we found. THE LOST TAPES is a collection of old school dubs and misplaced IDs that have never been released until now. Vol. 1 is 10 beats we made sometime during 2008-2009, with future volumes to cover other time periods.

From the sounds of it, we can expect THE LOST TAPES to continue as a series, featuring various unreleased productions through different timeframes of their career.

The first edition of THE LOST TAPES will be made available on Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and YouTube this Friday, December 4th. Check back here to listen when it drops.

Wow 2020 has definitely been a year for the ages, a year that none of us will ever forget. This year has been filled with anxiety and lots of uncertainty but if you’re like me you leaned on your music now more than ever. We had to shut off the TV for a while, push back the newspapers and all of the crazy news articles and just drift off into that magical place that only music can take us. Music was with us in the car, on our runs in the park and even when we danced in our living rooms with our loved ones or even just dancing by ourselves. We knew it before but 2020 helped confirm that music truly is “Medicine.” This is my last recorded set for this year and I just wanted to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind words of encouragement, thanks for sharing the mixes with your friends and thank you so much for all of your generous contributions (Via My Ca$h app below). Your passionate support really means the world to me. Alright, enough is enough you all know the drill by now so: Let’s Dance!!!

Exclusive The One You Feed Trailer From Drew Harwood’s Feature Film Directorial Debut

ComingSoon.net is debuting the exclusive trailer for Gravitas Ventures’ upcoming drama thriller The One You Feed, helmed by Drew Harwood (Drifter, God Send) in his feature film directorial debut. You can check out the trailer now in the player below!

The story is a sort of mirage. The Stranger is lost and he’s running from something. Ultimately, what he runs away from, he runs into. He finds someone he cannot leave. These two people, the Stranger and the Man, spend lifetimes finding and losing each other.

The film, written by Harwood and based on a story by Harwood and Gareth Koorzen (The Bone Box), stars Koorzen, Harwood, Rebecca Fraiser (Drifter), and Richard Watson (J’Tree).

“The concept for The One You Feed came to me in a dream. We wanted to tell this love story between two men in a dreamlike manner,” said Koorzen.

“We really wanted to make an LGBTQ film that expanded our current understanding of sexuality. We want to help normalize sexuality and sexual orientation and remove labels. So we decided that none of the characters would even have names. We wanted to display sexuality and sexual expression in its simplest form and for that to be beautiful. I really feel like we succeeded,” added Harwood.

The One You Feed was produced by Johnny Mocker, Koorzen, Harwood, and Katie Garland Noble.

“We truly put our entire lives on the line to make this movie. I always say we made it on a dime and a prayer,” said Noble. “The guys literally transformed their house into a farmhouse so we could shoot this. They scoured the streets of LA for abandoned furniture and used whatever treasures they picked up as the tables, chairs, and set decorations in the film. I couldn’t be more proud of every single person who helped make this film possible.”

The One You Feed’s rhythmic score, beautiful cinematography and strange yet distinctive sense of place set the tone of this compelling thriller,” said Megan Huggins, Acquisitions Coordinator at Gravitas Ventures. “Filmmaker Drew Harwood has coupled these elements with a dangerous love triangle that defies norms and realized a tense, striking film.”

The film will be available to rent and own on North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms through Gravitas Ventures on December 29, 2020.

New Gang of Four Tribute Album Announced

0

A new Gang of Four tribute album has been announced. The double album, titled The Problem of Leisure: A Celebration of Andy Gill and Gang of Four, will arrive in May 2021 and feature covers of Gang of Four and Andy Gill songs by a number of artists. The first single will be released on Friday, January 1, 2021, which would have been Gill’s 65th birthday. It’s a cover of “Natural’s Not in It,” performed by Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian.

Damien Hirst made the artwork for The Problem Leisure. Find the album cover, as well as a video from Andy Gill’s widow Catherine Mayer, below.

“Andy Gill was one of a handful of artists in history who changed the way guitars are played,” Tom Morello said in a statement. “His band Gang of Four were just incendiary and completely groundbreaking with Andy’s confrontational, unnerving and sublime playing at the forefront. His jagged plague-disco raptor-attack industrial-funk deconstructed guitar anti-hero sonics and fierce poetic radical intellect were hugely influential to me.”

Damien Hirst stated:

Everybody who grew up with Gang of Four in their lives can remember how mind-blowing and forward-thinking and filled with creative energy it was at the time and guess what? It still is now. It’s art. Art that’s reaching out of this world yet somehow still down to earth. It’s so great to be involved with this release and to see and hear a new generation of musicians paying tribute to Andy Gill’s incredible music. My artwork ‘Dog with Bone,’ which Andy picked for the cover from a few ideas I had, is from a new series of giant pipe cleaner animals based on little ones made in my studio by kids. I think he wanted this work for the cover because it’s new and unexpected and in your face and hard not to like, they make adults feel like children and Andy always wanted to celebrate that.

Andy Gill died in February of this year. According to press materials, he’d been planning the release of The Problem of Leisure to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Entertainment! in 2019. “Andy was massively excited about this project,” Catherine Mayer said. “It wasn’t, of course, conceived as a tribute album, but it’s comforting to me that he lived to see artists he hugely admired enthusiastically agreeing to participate, signaling that the admiration was mutual.”
