It’s been two years since siblings Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis) saved Christmas, and a lot has changed. Kate, now a cynical teenager, is reluctantly spending Christmas in Cancun with her mom’s new boyfriend and his son Jack (Jahzir Bruno). Unwilling to accept this new version of her family, Kate decides to run away. But when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good, Kate and Jack are unexpectedly pulled into a new adventure with Santa Claus (Kurt Russell). Written and directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter) and co-starring Goldie Hawn, The Christmas Chronicles 2 is an action-packed adventure for the whole family that’s full of heart, humor, and holiday spirit.

Also returning are Darby Camp as Kate, Kimberly Williams Paisley as Claire and Judah Lewis as Teddy. New additions to the cast include Julian Dennison as Belsnickel and Jahzir Bruno as Jack. Chris Columbus will direct and produce, alongside Mark Radcliffe and Michael Barnathan. The script is written by Matt Lieberman and Columbus.

The Christmas Chronicles, a holiday adventure from producer Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter) and director Clay Kaytis (The Angry Birds Movie), tells the story of sister and brother, Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis), whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about. After staking out Santa’s arrival, they sneak into his sleigh, cause it to crash and nearly derail Christmas. As their wild night unfolds, Kate and Teddy work together with Santa – as you’ve never seen him before – and his loyal Elves to save Christmas before it’s too late.

The Christmas Chronicles 2 is now available to stream on Netflix!

Listen to Rina Sawayama’s New Song “LUCID”

0

Rina Sawayama has shared a new song called “LUCID.” It’s produced by BloodPop®. Check out “LUCID” below. In a statement, Rina Sawayama said:

It’s about living a different life through dreaming, whether it’s to be with the dream girl or to be the dream girl. Me and Lauren Aquilina wrote this together on the floor of my tiny rented living room back in early 2018. BloodPop® sent us the beat and the melody flowed out so easily that I remember at one point I started hoovering cos I knew this would be easy to write lol. I’ve kept this song secret for two years so I’m so excited to finally release it to the world! 2020’s been a tough year so I wanted to finish it off with a dance bop to take us into a more hopeful 2021.

“LUCID” is set to appear on the deluxe edition of Sawayama’s debut SAWAYAMA. The deluxe edition will also include new songs “We Out Here” and “Bees & Honey,” Sawayama’s cover of the 1975’s “Love It If We Made It,” and more. SAWAYMA: Deluxe Edition is out December 4.

David Murray Cuban Ensemble Live: NPR Music at Winter Jazzfest

3

‘Black Nat’ recorded Jan. 7, 2012 at Le Poisson Rouge in New York, N.Y.

Saxophonist David Murray is a musical omnivore, and a particularly ravenous one: He can improvise his way through any conceivable setting, often with a full-bodied, ursine strength. Lately, he’s directed his energies toward Nat King Cole’s Spanish-language albums, as collected on the recent album David Murray Cuban Ensemble Plays Nat King Cole En Español. It’s a way of investigating his and his wife’s cultural histories — Afro-American and Spanish-Cuban, respectively — but it’s also a communion with like-minded Cuban musicians.

At the 2012 NYC Winter Jazzfest, Murray called together nine New York-based players, some of Cuban descent, to perform this repertoire at Le Poisson Rouge. All are crack soloists or rhythmatists, though none more so than their leader, who does his best to embody Cole’s voice with all due regal authority.

Personnel:
David Murray, tenor saxophone
Antonio Zamora, alto saxophone
Jay Rodriguez, tenor saxophone
Dennis Yuri Hernandez, trumpet
Shareef Clayton, trumpet
Terry Greene II, trombone
Edgar Pantoja Aleman, piano
Jaribu Shahid, bass
Eddy Mauricio Herrera Tamayo, drums
Yusnier Sanchez Bustamante, percussion

Producers: Mito Habe-Evans, Patrick Jarenwattananon
Audio Engineer: Kevin Wait
Executive Producers: Anya Grundmann, Keith Jenkins

Avengers: Endgame Director Joe Russo Shares Benefits Of Streaming Releases

0

The Russo Brothers work in the MCU massively opened up the shared universe, while containing plenty of long-awaited crossover moments. This is especially true for their pair of Avengers movies, with Endgame currently the highest grossing movie of film history. But the industry is in a unique place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Joe Russo seems to understand the benefit to releasing blockbusters straight to homes. As he put it,

No Man’s Sky Players Create Dedicated Rave Planets

2

When video game No Man’s Sky first released on August 9, 2016, many of the core features that developers had promised players were missing. At the time, the game was losing users by the thousands, but English indie studio Hello Games worked tirelessly and offered massive, free patches one after another to make it into the very fully functioning game it is today.

With all of the new updates, players are able to do things they never would have dreamed of at launch, including creating full “rave planets.”

Many games like Minecraft, Fortnite, and Roblox are also getting in on the virtual rave craze these days, but No Man’s Sky is the only one that offers both a fully customizable environment as well as AAA graphics.

Hello Games added a fully functional synthesizer to the game late last year, allowing players to create unique music that can be heard by visitors. After coming up with the idea, a group of players, known as The Galactic Hub, “settled on two planets in No Man’s Sky that were in close proximity to each other and began building dozens of bases that feature musical stages, meteor showers, and inventions that combine music with mini-games,” reports Game Rant.

The planets are called Lepios and Electric Diplo Carnival, each with their own unique ecosystems and planetary events. Hello Games released the Origins update to No Man’s Sky earlier this year that dramatically increased the planet count and made some major UI changes to the game. Up to 32 players band together to explore the vast beyond on next-gen consoles, meaning you can create some very intimate settings for friends.

Go out and find the planets and have fun!
