The legendry Cuban musician Bebo Valdes who is said to have been the founder of Latin Jazz, has died at the age of 94.
Valdes began his career as a pianist and composer in the night clubs of Havana.
Although at the centre of Cuba’s golden age of big band music he left after the revolution.
Eventually he settled in Sweden and after a long break from recording, he released the CD ‘Bebo Rides Again’ and went on to win a handful of Grammy awards.
When asked about his music he said it was his profession and his hobby and he’d keep doing it until the end.
