Chicago rapper G Herbo has pled not guilty to a series of federal charges, including aggravated identity theft and aiding and abetting a larger fraud scheme, according to the Chicago Tribune. He entered his plea via videoconference from a home in Los Angeles. He faces up to six years in prison if heโs convicted at trial. Heโs currently allowed to remain free on a $75,000 bond.
Herbo is named alongside eight other defendants as part of an alleged defrauding scheme involving stolen cards and accounts to obtain goods and servies including private jet charters, exotic car rentals, and designer puppies. Antonio โT-Gloโ Strong, identified in court documents as โpromoter and manager of rappers, particularly those in the Chicago area,โ is named as the ringleader of the alleged fraud operation.
When reached by Pitchfork, G Herboโs representatives offered no comment.
