HBO has released the first fullĀ Gossip GirlĀ reboot trailer. The video also reconfirms that the series will premiere on Thursday, July 8. Based on the hit The CW show of the same name, the reboot āexplores just how much social media ā and the landscape of New York itself ā has changed in the intervening years.ā
The HBO Max series starsĀ Jordan Alexander,Ā Eli Brown,Ā Thomas Doherty,Ā Tavi Gevinson,Ā Emily Alyn Lind,Ā Evan Mock,Ā Zion Moreno,Ā Whitney Peak,Ā andĀ Savannah Lee Smith.
Based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar, the 10-episode sequel series will be set eight years after Dan Humphrey shuts down the titular website. TheĀ Gossip GirlĀ reboot will now introduce a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media ā and the landscape of New York itself ā has changed in the intervening years.

Like the original series, the new iteration ofĀ Gossip GirlĀ is alsoĀ written by Joshua Safran, withĀ Kristen BellĀ returning to once again narrate the series and reprise her role as the voice of Gossip Girl. The reboot will be executive produced by Safran with Fake Empireās Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who both created and ran the original series, alongside Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo of Alloy Entertainment. Fake Empireās Lis Rowinski will co-executive produce with Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment producing in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television.
