While chatting with the Golden Globe and Emmy nominee about his role in Josh Duhamelā€™s forthcoming directorial debut,Ā Buddy Games, Johnny ā€œDramaā€ revealed that after multiple talks with series creator Doug Ellin to continue the gangā€™s story, the 52-year-old Emmy nominee has swayed towards Dillonā€™s way.

ā€œIsnā€™t that just a great show for a pandemic,ā€ Dillon asked with a bright smile. ā€œHe and I are actually going to record the next episode of our podcast,Ā Victory the Podcast, together after this with Kevin Connolly. Iā€™ve been working on Doug for months and finally, he said the other day, ā€˜Iā€™ll start thinking about a reboot or revival.’ā€

Leading up to the filmā€™s release, the cast and Ellin were all on board to return for more, with the seriesā€™ creator even telling Vanity Fair at the time that he was ready to make ā€œ20 sequelsā€ if given the opportunity, though the filmā€™s modest box office numbers and mixed reception from critics made the franchiseā€™s future unclear. While some have expressed uncertainty on if the show would work going into the future, the cast still have all remained adamant that if the offer came their way to reunite for more, theyā€™d say yes in a heartbeat.
