Straight from the Interview officesâwhich now span from midtown Manhattan to brownstone Brooklyn, L.A. to the U.K., and beyondâthis is the Word Wide Web Bulletin, a compilation of our favorite internet gossip from this week. This week: Lil Nas X releases âMontero (Call Me By Your Name), the state of New York is ready to legalize pot, and a thicc boat stuck in the Suez Canal may cause a worldwide toilet paper shortage. Letâs talk about it.

Breaking News: The Gay Mafia strikes again. Lil Nas X, the queer country wunderkid of hip-hop has released his highly-teased new song âMontero (Call Me By Your Name).â The instant queer anthem and its accompanying music video, which has nearly 2 million views in less than 12 hours, have stirred up celebrations all over the internet due to the videoâs unapologetic expression of identity. Lil Nas X takes a trip to hell to give the devil a sensual lap dance, because why not, while only wearing a pair of classic CK briefs, thigh-high dominatrix boots, and a hot red braid, inches long. Itâs a serve, and whatever comes after a serve. The artist posted a message on Instagram to his 14-year-old self, explaining the meaning of the song and why coming out is not only a service for himself but as he puts it, âthis will open many doors for many other queer people to simply exist.â We canât help but tear up. GAY RIGHTS!

New York is One Step Closer to Legalizing Marijuana

Sound the alarm, a new dank dawn is here for the state of New York. State officials announced that they have come to an agreement with the governor (yes, that one), to legalize recreational marijuana. The long-time-coming legalization would allow delivery of cannabis and the opening of spaces where marijuana can be consumedâpot hangouts, if you will, according to the Paper of Record. Fans of the plant could also grow up to six Mary Jane plants for personal use. If all of this is approved, in about one year all these changes could be coming to NYC. Imagine the possibilities! We asked 15 New Yorkers to give us their opinions about it. Plus, get a BTS look into the business of delivering drugs during the pandemic in NYC here. Alexa, play âMary Jane Hollandâ by Lady Gaga.

A Big Fat Boat Has Destabilized the World Economy
The world economy is currently spiraling due to the Ever Given, a big fat boatâitâs literally 400 meters longâgetting stuck in the Suez Canal on Tuesday. The ship caused major disruptions in what is considered one of the most important waterways of the world. The canal connects the Mediterranean with the Red Sea and shipping lanes to Asia. According to The New York Post, the blockage could cause a worldwide toiler paper shortage. (Not again!) Thankfully, as of this morning, the big boat had been partially refloated, which means traffic will resume shortly, but the memes will go on, and on, and on. The event has even given birth to a new website, Is the ship still stuck, where you can track the ship in real-time. Fun times for the end of the world, right?

R.I.P. Jessica WalterâActing, Insulting, and Winking Legend
The great actor Jessica Walter, known for playing the iconic Lucille Bluth in Arrested Development, died this week at the age of 80. Though many know her for the scene-stealing role, Walterâs career spanned over six decades, from working with Clint Eastwood in his directorial debut, Play Misty for Me, to her Emmy-nominate roles in Trapper John M..D. and Streets of San Francisco. The internet was quick to mourn the loss of a great actor, who had a knack for dark, twisted humor. In her honor, revisit this interview from 2014. As Lucille Bluth would say: âWeâd like to cry, but we canât spare the moisture.â đ

Now, sheâs pivoted her career to singing, releasing her first song âObsessed,â an auto-tune fever dream where Rae talks about being obsessed with herself, but like in a healthy âyou go girlâ way, we think? âYou say youâre obsessed with me/ So I took a second/ And I said âme tooâ/Iâm obsessed with me as much as you,â she sings over a sultry R&B-meets-pop beat.
