Dizzy Gillespie’s Afro-Cuban masterpiece MANTECA (Butter in Spanish) was composed in 1947, and has become a hit among jazz musicians with a taste for Latin-American rhythms. It is performed here by the Simplicius Cheong Latin Jazz Quintet, live at the Auditorium LT19, Nanyang Technological University on November 7, 2007.
