We will learn through this video how to make Chole & Bhature. We have used Whole Wheat flour for Bhature and they are as soft and tasty as the ones made from maida. Whole wheat flour is a healthier substitute to the maida. Also, the homemade desi ghee Chole is very healthy, low on calories, low on fat and still delicious.

Chole Bhature or Chana puri is an Indian street food which is a combination of spicy Chickpeas and fried Bhatura that is made from Whole wheat flour. Chole Bhature is a popular Indian recipe from the Punjabi cuisine. Chole is a tangy curry of white chickpeas whereas Bhatura is a fluffy and fried bread. It is usually consumed in breakfast or lunch or dinner served with Lassi, onions, green sauce and Pickle and fried potatoes.

Aloo Bhatura and Paneer Bhatura are the most popular varieties of Bhatura which is served with chickpeas cooked in a spicy gravy of tomatoes, onions, and garlic. Chickpeas are simmered in spicy-tangy tomato gravy with indigenous spices. It is served with steaming hot, puffed, deep fried and soft Bhaturas.

Chickpeas/Chole contain high amount of dietary fiber and low amount of fat. It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Chickpeas can help to control weight, improve intestinal health, and decrease the risk of type II diabetes and reduces the risk of heart disease. Chickpea is a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, beta-carotene and loads of other antioxidants along with phytochemicals.
