‘Fire and Desire’ was released on April 7, 1981 as part of Rick James fifth studio album ‘Street Songs’. The track was both written and produced by Rick James and was a duet with his then girlfriend and Motown label mate Teena Marie. It wasn’t officially released as a single but received much airplay on R&B radio stations and has since become a classic hit. It also managed to peak at number 17 on the R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart in 2004 following his death.
