Trevor Noah will host the 2021 Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy announced. Heโ€™ll take the place of Alicia Keys, who has hosted the 2019 and โ€™20 editions of the Grammys. Before Keys, James Corden hosted the Grammys in 2017 and โ€™18. Previously, LL Cool J hosted the Grammys from 2012โ€“2016.

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards are set to broadcast on CBS on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 8 p.m. Eastern. In a press release, Trevor Noah said:

Despite the fact that I am extremely disappointed that the Grammys have refused to have me sing or be nominated for best pop album, I am thrilled to be hosting this auspicious event. I think as a one-time Grammy nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award! (This is a metaphorical shoulder, Iโ€™m not trying to catch Corona). See you at the 63rd Grammys!

Trevor Noah was nominated for his first Grammy last year for his standup special Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia. The 2020 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album ended up going to Dave Chappelle.
