Summer camp movies are well-tread territory for comedies and have brought us the framework for memorable films such as Meatballs, Wet Hot American SummerĀ andĀ Heavyweights. The latest movie to offer a twist on this familiar formula isĀ YouthMin, a mockumentary that follows a youth ministry groupās Bible camp misadventure.
Directed by Jeff Ryan andĀ Arielle Cimino, the film stars Ryan (Orange Is the New Black) as Pastor Dave, a highly competitive youth pastor from New England. The cast also features Tori Grace Hines, Will Martin (The Devil You Know), and a trio of actors (Geena Santiago,Ā Luke Deardorff andĀ Matt Perusse)Ā from Ryanās 2019 film,Ā Mass Hysteria. The two-minute trailer gives a great feel of what to expect from the 79-minute film, which releases April 28, 2021, on iTunes, Amazon and Vimeo.
