Dropped in amongst the news that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II would be joining the upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2, Jeff Sneider of The InSneider also reported that Quentin Tarantino was receiving a big payday for writing the script.
According to Sneiderâs report, Tarantino is getting a whopping $20 million for the script, with Netflix also reportedly offering Leonardo DiCaprio âmillions of dollarsâ to return and reprise his role as Rick Dalton in a cameo.
According to initial reports on the movie, David Fincher and Pitt will reunite to work on a sequel to Quentin Tarantinoâs 2019 comedy drama, with Pitt reprising his role as stuntman Cliff Booth. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is rumored to be playing a character âin the vein of Jim Brown, who famously ended his Hall of Fame football career early to focus on acting, starring in such hits as The Dirty Dozen.â
According to a separate report from The InSneiderâs Jeff Sneider, Leonardo DiCaprio â who starred alongside Pitt in the original film â is in talks to join Pitt and Fincher and reprise his role as Rick Dalton. As for Margot Robbie, who played Sharon Tate in the movie, early reports mention that she is also âavailableâ for the movie should Fincher come calling.
As for how this movie came together, The Playlist notes that the script for the film was something that his script for The Movie Critic (which was also rumored to involve Pitt as Booth in some capacity) evolved into over time. Tarantino also has a unique deal with Sony Pictures on the rights to various aspects of Once Upon a Time.
A release date for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2 has not yet been announced.

Ananda Lewis, best known for her time in the late 1990s and early 2000s as an MTV VJ, died on Wednesday, June 11, TMZ reports. The television personality had revealed, in 2020, that she was living with breast cancer. Lewis was 52 years old.
Lewis was born and raised in Southern California. She attended and graduated from Howard University, in Washington, D.C., in the early 1990s, and she got her start in television as a host of BETâs Teen Summit. For her work on the program, she won an NAACP Image Award in 1997.
Following her success with BET, Lewis moved to MTV and served as a VJ on Total Request Live and Hot Zone. She also won another NAACP Image Award, in 2000, for her work on MTVâs True Life. Profiling Lewis, for The New York Times, in 1999, Douglas Century wrote, âLewis has emerged as the hip-hop generationâs reigning It Girl, meaning she is not just an MTV personality but a woman whose looks and attitude have made her perpetually in demand at clubs and parties. She is neither singer nor actress, yet from SoHo to South Beach she consorts with stars like Q-Tip, Maxwell, Shaquille OâNeal and Lenny Kravitz.â
Lewis left MTV in the early 2000s and started her own program, The Ananda Lewis Show. She went on to work at CBS, TLC, and elsewhere.

Hereâs what the Academy Award nominee had to say about Cruiseâs admiration of her latest theatrical outing, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.
While attending the June 3 premiere of Ballerina, the Blonde star noted that it was âunbelievableâ and âreally amazingâ to see an action superstar of Tom Cruiseâs stature provide his stamp of approval to her movie.
Speaking to Variety, Ana de Armas then highlighted the 62-year-old actorâs trait of encouraging the growth of all films in general. She stated, âYou know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to go well, and people going to the theaters.â
De Armas expressed further gratitude towards the Top Gun star for his support, noting, âWeâre working together, so he got to see Ballerina and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wicks.
