Actor Jamie Foxx will portray God in the upcoming comedy film Not Another Church Movie.
According to Deadline, he will star opposite Mickey Rourke as the Devil in this comedy movie shot prior to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The movie is written and directed by Johnny Mack. Kevin Daniels leads the ensemble cast, which features Vivica A. Fox, Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guy, Kyla Pratt, and Lamorne Morris.
Not Another Church Movie is “a wild ride through the fabulous world of Taylor Pharry (Daniels), an ambitious young man given a holy mission from God himself: to tell his family’s stories and inspire his community. His only concern? His family and community. What he doesn’t know is that the Devil has plans of his own.”
The producers are James Michael Cummings and Jim Cardwell. The executive producer is Valerie McCaffrey.
The film is aiming to release in late 2023.

A first look at Reptile has been revealed.
This upcoming Netflix movie features performances from Benicio del Toro, Justin Timberlake, and Alicia Silverstone. “Following the brutal murder of a young real estate agent, a hardened detective attempts to uncover the truth in a case where nothing is as it seems, and by doing so dismantles the illusions in his own life,” reads the official logline.

Jeff Tweedy is heading out on a book tour of World Within a Song: Music That Changed My Life and Life That Changed My Music. On select dates, the Wilco frontman will invite guests including Nick Offerman, journalist (and sometime Pitchfork contributor) Amanda Petrusich, guitarist Nathan Salsburg, radio host April Baer, and others. The tour kicks off in Chicago on November 5 ahead of the book’s release on November 7 via Dutton.
World Within a Song: Music That Changed My Life and Life That Changed My Music compiles Tweedy’s reflections on songs by the Replacements, Joni Mitchell, Otis Redding, Billie Eilish, Mavis Staples, the Velvet Underground, and a few dozen others.
