Alec Baldwin Calls For Police To Be On Movie Sets After 'Rust' Shooting
Alec Baldwin is calling for cops to be on movie sets after the fatal shooting on the set of his film “Rust.” “Every film/TV set that uses guns, fake or otherwise, should have a police officer on set, hired by the production, to specifically monitor weapons safety,” Alec tweeted on Monday. The plea for police presence from the “30 Rock” actor comes after he accidentally discharged a prop gun while rehearsing a scene for the western film on October 21st, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Alec Baldwin Calls For Police To Be On Movie Sets After ‘Rust’ Shooting
Kim Kardashian isn’t skimming over giving credit where it’s due.
As proof, the SKIMS founder reposted a sexy selfie of younger sister Kendall Jenner to her Instagram Stories on Jan. 6. In the snap, the runway model is seen wearing a dark brown two-piece set from her clothing collection. For her repost, Kim, 41, aptly captioned the photo with a sticker that read, “Damn girl.” As for Kendall, 26, she got the message across to her fans loud and clear by captioning her original Instagram Story post, “I live in @skims.”
And if you’re wondering about her exact two-piece ensemble, Kendall seems to be sporting the Fits Everybody One Shoulder Bralette and matching thong underwear from her sister’s line.
As anyone keeping up with the siblings would note, this wouldn’t be the first time they’ve shown each other support for their various endeavors. In fact, last July, Kim flipped the switch and stripped down for a special post dedicated to promoting Kendall’s 818 tequila brand.

Wadada Leo Smith/ Henry Kaiser / Alex Varty:Pacifica Koral Reef[577]
The unique beauty of underwater worlds around Antarctica and the Pacific Northwest partially inspired Pacifica Koral Reef, an improvised 55-minute piece by celebrated trumpet player Wadada Leo Smith with guitarists Alex Varty and Henry Kaiser. Themes of climate change, spirituality, and the resilience of oppressed people also influenced the composition, which the trio recorded together in 2018.
DS4Ever is the latest, and supposedly final, installment in Gunna’s Drip Season series, arriving nearly four years after its predecessor. Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, and Chloë all appear on DS4Ever, as do Chris Brown, G Herbo, and Roddy Ricch. The album cover was created by New York artist Daniel Arsham.
As Sis, Bay Area-based multi-instrumentalist Jenny Gillespie Mason offers mellow, fuzzy synth pop songs. She released her debut album, Gas Station Roses, in 2019, and the five-song Gnani arrives after the 2020 singles “Switchback” and “Fingerpaint.” She shared “Double Rapture” and “Wooie” from Gnani ahead of the project’s release.
In Part Three of the Venice Sho-Line Crips series, Kay Kay breaks down the Grape Street Watts Crips and Neighborhood Rollin 60 Crips conflict in the Marvista Gardens Projects in Culver City during the 1980s, and why the Venice Shorelines left. Newspaper articles pretty much confirm Kay Kay’s accounts as accurate historical facts.
In 1982 the projects was 49% Mexican, 30% Black, 14% White, 7% Oriental, Samoan, Alaskan, and Pacific Islanders.
The Sholines also talk about Teena Marie, High School Football games and Muscle Beach at Venice Beach in the 70s and early 80s when they encountered Raymond Washington, Tookie, and the Rollin 60s.

Growing Belushi is returning for its second season on Discovery later this month. The reality series features Jim Belushi and follows him as he runs his cannabis farm.
Discovery Channel revealed more about the return of the series in a press release.
“Ain’t no mountain high enough for Jim Belushi! After growing his passion into a successful and bustling business, Jim and his team of farmers are on a mission to rebrand and rebuild their cannabis farm from small and boutique to premium high-end for the masses. In an effort to meet increasing national demand, they’re bringing state of the art technology, cultivation methods, new equipment and new facilities to Belushi’s Farm – and the results are as promising as they are challenging. It’s a season all about regrowth and growth, and we’ve got high hopes for Belushi’s Farm!
An all-new season of GROWING BELUSHI premieres Wednesday, January 19 at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery. Follow the conversation on social media with #GrowingBelushi, and follow Discovery on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more updates.
“In this season of GROWING BELUSHI, you’ll witness my evolution from hobby boutique cultivator to multi-state business operator. This year is not only about the expansion of our business, but our mission to spread awareness about the plant as a pathway to healing,” said Belushi. “And, you’ll learn about the burgeoning industry, how it intersects with politics and how I handle the pressure — between weathering the elements, rebuilding the farm, and overseeing Chris’ new restaurant…. well, there are many challenges to tackle with laughs along the way.”
This season, the crew is faced with the challenge of farming — weather, mold, pests — and re-growing their unique proprietary strains after they were destroyed last season (blame Jim!). With the help of some friends and familiar faces — including Dan Aykroyd, Larry Joe Campbell, Guy Fieri, and cousin Chris — it’s a joint effort to get things back on course and achieve greatness within the competitive world of cannabis.
And of course, there are many new adventures, such as cousin Chris building and operating a tiny restaurant with one table on the farm called the Engjell Café, which introduces a whole new element of stress and comedy as Chris experiments with cannabis-infused cuisine. As Jim likes to say with a smile, “Reservations are tough, the food is great, but with one table and free food, the Engjell Cafe is the most exclusive restaurant in southern Oregon. The only problem is the owner is a pain in the a**.”
This unique brand of edutainment is equally funny as it is informative. GROWING BELUSHI sheds light on Jim’s journey of self-discovery and the incredible effort it takes to build and operate a legal medicinal cannabis farm with the dream of helping others on their pathway to heal and thrive.
GROWING BELUSHI is produced for Discovery by Whitehorse Productions where James Orr and Jim Belushi are executive producers. For Discovery, Kyle Wheeler and Joseph Schneier are executive producers and Jessica Mollo is associate producer.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Growing Belushi on Discovery? Do you plan to watch season two?
You are sitting in a car. The car is stuck in a tunnel; gridlock traffic. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. You are waiting your turn.
All you can hear is the car radio. The smooth-talking DJ is guiding you forward, to “accept your fate with open arms.”
Sounds like purgatory, huh? That’s the idea. And that deathly DJ? It’s Jim Carrey.
Oh, Canada.
As The Weeknd descends further into conceptual madness, his fifth album Dawn FM, out Friday (and announced only earlier this week), unfurls a vaguely existential playlist — songs welcoming listeners to the “painless transition” of the great beyond.
While the metaphor is somewhat trite, the execution is sharp; a seamless, afternoon-drive radio airplay, with scene-setting jingles and a quippy, psychedelic ad for “Afterlife,” billed as an abstract film: “This is your invitation to enter … an experience you’ll never forget.”
Gimmicks aside, the tunes here really move, re-upping much of the thump lost on 2020’s After Hours, the mega-star’s most sterile project to date. Nevermind the quarantine-kismet success of “Blinding Lights.” The artist born Abel Tesfaye, Mr. “when I’m fucked up, that’s the real me,” belongs in the club, not on TikTok — even if both records dropped/are dropping during suffocating COVID surges.
Synth once again dominates the soundscape, but with exceeding edge and power; more akin to the highs of 2016’s Starboy.

Major kudos to Oneohtrix Point Never, the electro-wizard producer (FKA Twigs, Anohni), who’s locked in as executive producer and brings space-opera afterparty vibes to “How Do I Make You Love Me” and “Gasoline.” The latter experiments with The Weeknd’s vocal pitch, swapping his creamy falsetto for low tones bordering on David Byrne.
“Sacrifice,” which is built on an electric guitar loop — shown to The Weeknd by Swedish House Mafia, he said on a press call earlier this week — is an addictive dance winner, as is “Best Friends,” a sweat-and-pulse ode to friends with benefits (and how it always falls apart). Later on, “Less The Zero” unleashes a killer synth cascade, a stairway to MIDI heaven.
Though after the mammoth success of schmaltzy After Hours soft-boppers “In Your Eyes” and “Save Your Tears,” Tesfaye was sure to revisit the well, this time doling “Out of Time” — a lovelorn, Hall and Oates-y cut destined for Adult Contemporary ubiquity — and “Here We Go … Again” featuring longtime Beach Boys member Bruce Johnston on backing vocals. Tyler, the Creator adds a verse, as does Lil Wayne on the Bruno Mars-adjacent “I Heard You’re Married.” Neither feature is particularly memorable.
Dawn FM is well-polished — co-executive producer Max Martin makes sure of it — while maintaining its dexterity, punch and sex appeal, in step with most of The Weeknd’s catalog. It’s mercifully cohesive, too, a rare A-list pop album that actually rewards the listener for engaging with it in sequence.
In totality, Dawn FM is his finest work since Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), thematically hinging on regret and shedding grudges. Such is the crux of “A Tale By Quincy,” a spoken note from Quincy Jones about how family trouble plagued his personal life for decades.
The subject matter is otherwise framed within familiar heartache, though it’s more overt on the final track, a Seussian couplet (bordering on ASMR) poem read by Carrey, a fellow Ontarian who is Tesfaye’s neighbor and new friend (The Mask was Tesfaye’s first movie theater experience, he said on a press call earlier this week).

As we presumably reach the end of the tunnel, Carrey recites: “Heaven’s for those who let go of regret, you have to wait here when you’re not all there yet. But you could be there by the end of this song. … You gotta be heaven to see heaven.”
