NFL Player Emmanuel Ogbah Shares Racist Message He Received After Sunday Loss | News

0

Miami Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah received a racist message on Instagram following his team’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday (October 17) in London.

Ogbah said he typically ignores the abusive and negative comments and messages he receives, however one Instagram user referred to him by the N-word.

According to Knewz, a man named Nick Mongeau used the racial slur against Ogbah, who reposted it in a tweet that has since been deleted. Following the message being made public by the NFL star, Mongeau’s employer, the University of Rhode Island, released a statement condemning the horrible act of racism.

“The University learned today of an offensive, unacceptable and racist comment posted to social media earlier today, allegedly by one of our students. This language is abhorrent and has no place in a community that is deeply committed to anti-racism,” the university said in its statement.

The added: “Given the significance of this issue, the University has taken immediate action and referred the matter to the University student conduct process for review.”

While Mongeau’s identity was not revealed by URI, the Internet reportedly tracked him down and he subsequently deleted his IG account.

Ogbah finished with three tackles, a sack and a pass breakup in the 20-23 loss to the Jaguars. The 27-year-old is in his second season with the Dolphins.

ST SIMEON PREP DUET – HEAVEN OR HELL by TRILINA PUCCI

0

‘Our fathers are enemies. Our lives are predestined – doomed from the start.’
‘You don’t date the son of a crime boss for the Irish mob when you’re the daughter of a senator.’

Well, what can we say after reading Trilina Pucci’s St. Simeon Prep Duet in one hit? It’s a tale as old as time, a gritty, raw, and dark version of the star-crossed lovers, Romeo, and Juliet. Riddled with angst, suffering, and manipulation. Saturated in love, passion, and eroticism. Swathed in heartbreak, vengeance, and violence. This duet was quite the rollercoaster ride and Trilina Pucci had our emotions all over the place till the very last page. A dark anti-hero romance that was fabulously written, all-consuming, and skirted with boundaries, just how we like it!

“The devil already knows your name, Calder Wolfe. And one day, even he’ll be afraid of the king…Tragedy awaits you. Death is knocking. And it’s on her doorstep.”

We have a soft spot for love stories that are cursed by circumstance, in this case even more so as this duet was hard as bloody nails. It wasn’t pretty hearts and flowers or even stereotypically romantic. Rather, it was a mess. Ugly, tainted, and bloody. There was so much packed into this story, from families at war, Irish mob, corrupt politicians, and murder and torturous enemy mayhem. We were there for it all!

“I’m going to give you the stars, and the moon, and – “
“Love. You’re going to give me love.”

The way in which Just like Heaven began, we had a feeling this wasn’t going to be an easy ride. As soon as we read: “Your love will end tragically – he won’t save you…. But you will save him.” We just knew! And we were not wrong.  We had chills as did Sutton when she comes across her destiny, her soulmate, Calder Wolfe. Wheels are set in motion and their tale is as harrowing as it gets, yet the love is fierce and all-consuming.

“Death isn’t waiting for Calder. It’s listening for his instruction.”

We hung on to the knowledge that we were able to immediately pick up Sinning Like Hell to continue their journey, knowing full well it was going to get a hell of a lot worse before it got better. We had no idea! But there was beauty too hidden amongst the pages.

“You saved me. Gave me purpose. Led me to be the man I was supposed to become. Because for an angel to walk on this earth, it’ll need the protection of the Devil.”

Sutton is a beautiful, slightly naïve, and innocent Catholic girl who faces the ultimate test when she’s rendered speechless by the blue-eyed ‘devil’, the magnificent dirty-talking bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, who is everything she didn’t know was missing from her life. In return, Calder knows he’s found his soulmate and he will fight to the death to keep her safe and in his arms. The path to their ‘happy’ is like one long explosive fight scene. Twists and scheming manipulations are thrown like roadblocks to thwart their romance and happily ever after.

“I hope you find me and that I’m still whole. Because I never anticipated that when I told you I was willing to wade through hell to be with you – that tonight, the Devil would call my bluff.”

There are some scenes in this duet that are so bloody hot that turning the pages scorched our fingers. You all know those scenes, the ones that are so outrageous, they completely start a fire in your belly and get your pulse racing! We’ll say no more on that…. except Calder Wolfe is everything! This duet consumed us, and we can only liken the experience to an active volcano that simmers until it boils over into a frenzied eruption of hot molten fiery lava…pun intended.

Whilst it felt a tad too insta-love for us initially, by the time we turned the last page of the second book, we were in tears at the heartfelt beauty of Sutton and Calder’s love story!

“Write about a love that defies the stars. Write about yours.”

Kingston and The Magician’s Lost & Found Film in the Works at Disney

0

Disney Branded Television has officially acquired the rights to Rucker Moses and Theo Gangi’s fantasy children’s novel series Kingston and the Magician’s Lost & Found as well as to its sequel Kingston and the Echoes of Magic. The studio is currently developing an original movie adaptation of the first novel.

“We are thrilled to partner with Craig, Harold and Theo and bring their heartfelt story of wonder and mystery to our audience,” President of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis said in a statement (via Deadline). “Set against the backdrop of true magical history, this is an inspiring adventure of extraordinary moments happening in everyday situations.”

Disney Branded Television’s SVP of Original Movies, Lauren Kisilevsky added, “‘Kingston’ is an adventure that is epic and intimate, set in a world that is both mysterious and familiar — with a story and characters our audience can relate to and be awed by. The adventure, emotion and authenticity in these books align with our mission to tell stories that not only engage and entertain but remind us that there is magic all around us, even in the most unexpected places.”

First published earlier this year, Kingston and the Magician’s Lost & Found centers around a 12-year-old kid who finds out that there’s something more to his father’s disappearance than meets the eye. With the help of his cousin and friend, he takes on the challenge of solving the clues his father had left behind in order to find him and bring back the magic to Echo City.

Pick up a copy of the novel here.

The first book’s official synopsis reads: “Twelve-year-old Kingston has just moved from the suburbs back to Echo City, Brooklyn—the last place his father was seen alive. Kingston’s father was King Preston, one of the world’s greatest magicians. Until one trick went wrong and he disappeared. Now that Kingston is back in Echo City, he’s determined to find his father.

Somehow, though, when his father disappeared, he took all of Echo City’s magic with him. Now Echo City—a ghost of its past—is living up to its name. With no magic left, the magicians have packed up and left town and those who’ve stayed behind don’t look too kindly on any who reminds them of what they once had.

When Kingston finds a magic box his father left behind as a clue, Kingston knows there’s more to his father’s disappearance than meets the eye. He’ll have to keep it a secret—that is, until he can restore magic to Echo City. With his cousin Veronica and childhood friend Too Tall Eddie, Kingston works to solve the clues, but one wrong move and his father might not be the only one who goes missing.”

The film adaptation is executive produced by Jane Startz, Craig S. Phillips, Harold Hayes Jr., and Gangi. Following the first book’s debut last February, it was immediately followed by a sequel titled  Kingston and the Echoes of Magic, which was just released last month.

Chucky TV Show on Syfy: Season One Viewer Votes – canceled + renewed TV shows

Chucky TV show on Syfy and USA Network: canceled or renewed for season 2?

(Photo: Steve Wilkie/SYFY)

Will this town survive the first season of the Chucky TV show on Syfy and USA Network? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Chucky is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Chucky here.

A Syfy and USA Network dark comedy and horror series, the Chucky TV show is based on the Child’s Play film franchise. The show stars Brad Dourif, Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Björgvin Arnarson, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise McCarthy with Jennifer Tilly, Devon Sawa, Lexa Doig, and Barbara Alyn Woods recurring. In the story, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage “Good Guy” doll turns up at a suburban yard sale and is purchased by teen Jake Wheeler (Arthur). It turns out to be none other than Chucky (voice of Brad Dourif), a doll that holds the soul of a deceased and vicious serial killer. Soon, everyone in the town must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, friends and foes from Chucky’s past creep back into his world and threaten to expose the truth behind his mysterious origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Chucky TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Do you think that Chucky should be cancelled or renewed for a second season on Syfy and USA Network? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
